Though you can upload small files to Google Docs and Google Merchant Center accounts through the regular Google website interface, you need FTP to upload any files larger than 20MB, with a maximum file size of 1GB.
Browser FTP
To upload with FTP, you need an FTP program. There are two types: browser uploaders and standalone FTP programs. In Firefox, either install the Firefox Universal Uploader (Fireuploader) add-on, or go to 'Tools,' then 'Add-ons' and search for other FTP uploaders. You can search the add-ons or plugins marketplace of any browser for an FTP uploader that supports Google. Add-ons and plugins are free to install, and create an FTP interface in your browser's toolbar.
Standalone FTP
Another option is a standalone FTP program on your computer. The benefit here is that you can also use it to upload website files from your computer to any Web host. If you manage several websites, an FTP program lets you organize your accounts in one program. Cyberduck is a free FTP program that supports Google for Mac. Search Google for free or paid FTP programs, and look for one that supports Google Docs and Merchant Center.
Access
Whether you use a browser FTP plugin or a standalone FTP program, you simply log into your Google account to upload files. For example, in Fireuploader, click on the program icon and enter your username and password into the 'Add/Edit user' dialog box that opens. The process is the same with other programs. Most FTP programs allow you to store multiple accounts, so just click on the account name next time you want to FTP to your Google account. From there, drag and drop files from your computer to the FTP program to upload them to Google's site.
