How to Access a Remote VMware ServerIn Feburary 2016 20,
In Feburary 2016 20,
Launch the VMware Server Console on your computer from the VMware Server screen. The console automatically installs when you first install VMware Server software. If you chose not to install it at that time, download it from the VMware website. VMware Server Console must be open and running to access a remote VMware Server.
Install the VMware Server Web interface. In the first page of the installation process, click
Custom.
Check the box next to
VMware Management Interface, and then click
Next.
Wait for VMware server to check if you have the Microsoft IIS Web server installed. This process may take several minutes. If you don't have it installed, the VMware server installation setup will stop and you will need to install it, which you can do from the Windows Components section of the Programs and Features screen in the computer's Control Panel.
Launch your Web browser. Type the name of the remote VMware Server that you wish to access; for example: http://yourservername:8222https://yourservername:8333The VMware Server Web interface will then appear and you can manipulate and access the remote VMware Server as you wish.

How to Rename My DomainIn Feburary 2016 19,
In Feburary 2016 19,
Buy a new domain name from an online seller such as GoDaddy.com, Domain.com or CheckDomain.com. You usually hold the name for one or two years. Selecting 'auto renewal' means the company will automatically charge you at the end of that period, so you can keep the domain name for another year or two years. As of 2010, it usually costs $10 to $20 per year.
Log into the control panel of your hosting account. You already have this if you have been running a website under another domain name. Otherwise, buy hosting (space on the web to hold your website)from a site such as HostGator.com, GoDaddy.com or ASmallOrange.com.
Go to the 'Domains' section of your hosting account. If the service allows you to change the domain name manually, the relevant heading will be something like 'Primary Domain' or 'Change Primary Domain.' Click to enter the section, type in your new domain name and click 'OK' or the equivalent to confirm.
Log into the program you use to design, edit and publish your website. Publish the website, entering the new domain name or ftp address (available from your hosting provider) and password when prompted.
Alternatives
Email or phone your hosting provider directly to request a change to your primary domain name. Some providers do not allow you to change the domain name manually. Tell them your new domain name and republish the website when the provider confirms the change.
Log into the control panel of your hosting account, go to 'Domains' or the equivalent section, select 'Forward Domain' and enter your new domain name. You do not have to republish. Typing the new domain name into the address bar takes users directly to the site under the previous domain name.
Select 'Mask domain' when adding the forward domain if you do not want users to be able to see the old domain name. It will still direct users to the previous site, but only the new domain name will be visible in the address bar.

How Does a 404 Error Occur?In Feburary 2016 12,
In Feburary 2016 12,
A '404 Error' appears when a person trying to get to a website or URL but the site is unavailable or unreachable. This error may also manifest in different appearances on the web page, depending on the way the website administrator programs the error to appear to the users. Aside from 'Page cannot be displayed,' it can also appear as 'Page cannot be displayed,' '404-Page not Found,' 'Error 404: Not Found,' 'The page cannot be found' or 'HTTP 404- Not Found.' Aside from the error messages, the error page may have additional information indicating the possible cause and resolution.
Causes
There are different reasons why a website becomes unreachable or unavailable, possibly due to a problem on the web server hosting the website or a possible problem with the link or URL. Another possibility would be a network connection issue between the web server and the user's computer. It is also possible that certain components within the web server that is hosting the site is having issues, such as services and web instances not running that the website is depending on to run normally.
Troubleshooting
The common resolution suggested by technical support or programmers would be to do the simplest thing, often suggested on the error page itself, which is to refresh the screen by hitting the refresh button on the web browser menu bar. This will allow the web browser to try to reconnect to the website that is having issues. Oftentimes, companies that host websites have redundant servers in place to provide minimal disruptions, after hitting refresh the other server or servers in the pool will process the request in order to display the website. Another way to solve the 404 Error code is to make sure that the website spelling is correct. The cause may be a typing error by misspelling or missing letters or symbols. By typing the correct URL or link to the website, the error code will disappear and will lead to the correct web page. Sometimes, if the error does not go away, it is best to wait patiently until the problem disappears. This is often the case when a web site may be experiencing technical difficulties and a user has no control over the situation. Most reputable webhosting companies already know the problem before the users do; therefore, they may already be hard at work to resolve the problem. If the wait is taking much longer as anticipated, it is best to call the webmaster or webhosting services to report the problem or find out the status of the problem. Technicians supporting the websites may need to restart services, recycle web instances or reboot the web server to resolve the problem. If the website is corrupt or it needs the programmer to rebuild it again may take several hours to resolve. If the web server is broken, support technicians may need to repair or replace the broken parts or replace the entire server with another one. It is best practice for webhosting companies operate with redundant pairs in order to minimize disruption of service or to provide uninterrupted service. If the problem is due to network connectivity, support technicians will have to fix the network connections first before the website can come back up.

How to Make a VPS Out of a Dedicated ServerIn Feburary 2016 10,
In Feburary 2016 10,
Check to determine if your physical server meets the hardware requirement of the hypervisor that you want to use. A hypervisor is the operating system that manages the virtual servers. Some hypervisors require specific hardware to install at all.
Save the data and/or configuration of the appliance currently running on the physical server.
Put the disc in the reader and install the hypervisor. Hypervisors install like any other operating system.
Virtual Server
Once installed, you will be able to boot in the hypervisor console. Refer to your manual to create a Virtual Machine (VM). Choose what CPU power, memory and storage amount the VM will have access to. The CPU power, RAM amount and storage amount can be changed after creation if your appliance's needs go up.
Install the operating system using an ISO (image of a disk stored on a hard drive), a disk or the network. The installation and configuration is identical to an installation on a physical server. Install and configure the appliance.
Repeat the process for all of the appliances you want to install in virtual servers on the physical server.

How to Calculate Network ThroughputIn Feburary 2016 05,
In Feburary 2016 05,
Convert the TCP window size from bytes to bits: 64 KB is the default TCP window size for computers running the Windows operating system. To convert the window size to bits, multiply the number of bytes by eight. 64 KB x 8 = 524,288 bits.
Divide the TCP window size in bits by the network path latency. For this example, use a latency of 60 milliseconds. 524,288 bits / .060 seconds = 8,738,133 bits per second.
Convert the result from step 2 to megabits per second by dividing the result by 1,000,000. In this example, the maximum throughput is 8.738 Mbps maximum network throughput with the main limitation on the network throughput being the high latency of the network connection.

How to Use an HTML in XAMPPIn Feburary 2016 04,
In Feburary 2016 04,
Go to 'Start' on the Windows taskbar and type 'XAMPP' into the search box. Select 'XAMPP Control Panel' and press the 'Enter' key. Start Apache from the XAMPP Control Panel. Apache is ready for use once you see the word 'Running' highlighted in green.
Go to 'Start' and open 'Computer.' Navigate to your XAMPP folder, normally found as a top-level folder under your computer's main hard drive. Open the htdocs folder.
Open 'Computer' again and navigate to the folder where you keep your HTML files. If you do not already have any HTML files created, create one and save it to the htdocs folder under the XAMPP folder. Copy and paste your HTML files, if you find any, in to the htdocs folder.
Start your Web browser and type 'localhost/filename.html' into the address bar. Press 'Enter' and watch your HTML file load as a Web page. Now your Apache server that came with XAMPP is serving your Web pages.
