How to Add Downloads to a WebsiteIn Feburary 2016 26,

In Feburary 2016 26,
Get the file that you want to make downloadable. You must have the file yourself and have the rights to distribute it.
Upload the file from your computer to your website host. You can upload the file by using FTP software or by using website design software that has uploading capability built into its functionality.
Compress the file to make it smaller to download. This is only necessary if the file is large. You can use a program like Winzip to compress the file and make it downloadable as a smaller zip file.
Link to the file so others can download it. Add a line of HTMLcode that points to the file you uploaded and choose the words you want to link to the file. The code will be something like this: Click here</a'>http://mysite.com/folder/download.exe'>here</a> to download this file. The word 'here' will be a link, and when someone clicks on it, the file will be able to be downloaded.

How to Make a File Downloadable From a WebsiteIn Feburary 2016 22,

In Feburary 2016 22,
Determine what type of file to create. You can convert a document to a PDF (portable document file.) For a collection of items, like images or audio files, use a compression tool so that users can download all the items in one small package.
Download a compression tool, like Winzip and a program to create PDF files, such as Adobe Distiller, from a download site or the manufacturer's website.
Hit the 'Ctrl' key and left-click each file that you want to add to the compressed folder. When all the files are selected, right-click and select 'Send to Compressed (Zipped) Folder.' A new folder with the extension '.zip' will appear.
Open your PDF creator software. Click 'File' and 'Open.' Select the file you want to convert to a PDF to open it. Click 'Save as PDF' from the menu. With Adobe Professional, you can right-click the document and select 'Convert to Adobe PDF.'
Upload the PDF and Zip files to your web server with your FTP software. You can place them right on the root folder or create a subfolder and put them there.
Edit the web page from which the users will download the files. Put the text 'link' at the place in the file where you want the link to the file to appear. 'Folder' is the name of the folder where the file resides, 'filename' is the name of the file and 'link' is the word to be used as the hyperlink in your web page.
Add text in your webpage that tells users what the file format of the downloadable file is. Provide instructions on how to open it.

How to Make an Online Radio Station for FreeIn Feburary 2016 22,

In Feburary 2016 22,
Use the software ubroadcast to broadcast online. Ubroadcast allows you to set up an online radio station for free and broadcast live. However, other users must download the ubroadcast client before they can listen to your station.
Set up a Shoutcast broadcasting server. Shoucast is a free program that also allows for online radio broadcasting. Shoutcast allows you to either broadcast directly from your own computer, or from a third-party Shoutcast host that hosts your program on its servers. It does not require special software for listeners to use.
Create a podcast using sound software such as Audacity and use a podcast hosting service such as MyPodCast to host the podcast. While not a live Internet broadcast, Podcasts have an advantage in that they can be downloaded to the PC and played back anytime, unlike a radio broadcast, which can only be heard once unless you record it.

How to Remove a Parked DomainIn Feburary 2016 21,

In Feburary 2016 21,
Upload a website to the domain's hosting account. The parked domain page may disappear as soon as the owner's own information is added to the domain.
Delete the parked domain page on the server. Log in to the domain's hosting account and physically delete the parked page that was provided by the web host. Access the list of files by using an FTP program, such as one provided to you by the web host, or a free one that must be downloaded, such as FileZilla. Navigate to the 'index.html' file, right-click and choose to 'Delete.' This step is often necessary if the server is automatically set to run an HTML page over other extension types. In this case, even uploading a new 'Index' page with a PHP extension will not override the parked page until it has been deleted.
Change the parked domain's settings in the domain control panel. Log in and choose to turn off the domain parking. The action will vary depending on the domain provider. Navigate to a 'Manage Domains' section and click a button to 'Remove Domain Parking' or to 'Activate Domain.'
Choose to forward the domain name to another website and domain. Forwarding or masking will activate the domain instead of placing it in parked mode. Log in to the 'Manage Domains' menu and select the option to 'Forward.' Enter the domain you would like to forward it to and save.

Open Source Email Marketing ToolsIn Feburary 2016 21,

In Feburary 2016 21,
Dada Mail takes its name from the Dada art movement of the early 20th century, in which artists expressed themselves with no boundaries, conventions or rules. Dada Mail expresses this idea by providing users a wide range of capabilities in formatting and organizing their email newsletters. Dada Mail uses the open source scripting language Perl, which allows Perl programmers to add features to meet the company's needs. Businesses that do not have Perl experts on staff can still use the web-based interface to add, edit or delete features from the program.
Mailman
Mailman is a free software package used for handling email lists. Mailman uses a web-based interface, which makes it easier for users to control access to their accounts and for list owners to accomplish their tasks. Mailman includes features such as message archiving, content filtering, and automatic processing of 'bounce-back' messages that come from bad email addresses. The package also includes filters to block out unsolicited email advertisements, also known as spam. The software is written in the Python web scripting language, but includes some security modules in the C programming language.
OpenEMM
OpenEMM, which stands for Open E-Marketing Manager, is the first open source software platform designed specifically for email marketing. The first version was released in 1999 and has been used by high-profile companies such as IBM, Siemens and Deutsche Telekomm. OpenEMM inclues an intuitive user interface, advanced bad email address bounce-back management, a realtime statistics module and the ability to connect to a web-based content management system, such as WordPress and Drupal. (see reference 4)
PHPList
PHPList uses the popular and powerful PHP scripting language for its open source engine. The software is designed to connect to the free MySQL database management system for the administration of the user's mailing list data. PHPList gives list administrators the ability to tracks links and URLs embedded in the email messages and compiles statistics by message, URL and subscriber. Businesses of nearly every size can use the software, as it is scaleable to up to 100,000 subscribers.

How to Plan a Networking EventIn Feburary 2016 19,

In Feburary 2016 19,
Begin planning eight weeks ahead of an event by creating a short list of dates and sites. Check calendars to avoid conflicts with related events, such as meetings or conferences that could draw your potential audience elsewhere. Evaluate venues for logistical issues such as easy access to parking, capacity and security to minimize or eliminate issues that make it hard for people to attend.
Delegate Responsibilities
Create a committee to share the workload, especially for larger events. Seek out volunteers for the key positions of chairman, vice chairman, secretary and program director. Once you fill those slots, schedule a meeting to discuss your expectations. Iron out issues such as hiring guest speakers, and assign committee members to handle specific tasks, such as budgeting and publicity.
Determine Your Format
Choose activities that encourage guests to mingle freely and share details about themselves or their professional activities. For example, ask that participants chat with three people they haven't met before or who work in a similar field, according to 'Entrepreneur' magazine. Alternatively, invite attendees to bring information about their products and services, then set aside a table to display these items. Also, appoint volunteers who can greet people as they arrive and help them fill out name tags.
Review the Site
Tour the venue weeks before the event. Meet the manager to ensure that he can commit the space to your group. If you're renting the site, discuss any terms that might affect attendance, such as whether you can post signs on-site to direct attendees to the right place. Also, ask how the manager will ease issues that work against easy mingling, such as large numbers of tables and chairs.
Set a Marketing Strategy
Develop a list of people to send emails, brochures or postcards about your event. If you target a specific group, check databases for members living within driving distance. Focus on reaching your most likely attendees first by emailing them a month in advance. Then send an email reminder a week before the event. Keep extra postcards and print materials for passing out among your own contacts, who can help get the word out.
