The Advantages of ProtocolsIn Feburary 2016 22,

In Feburary 2016 22,
Transfer protocols move files and data from one location to another. Two computers in the operation are required: one is a transferring server and the other a receiving client. Several file transfer protocols include the following:FTP (file transfer protocol) allows the transfer of files. It establishes a connection to a remote client and transfers the files until completed, and then it disconnects. The connection can be in an internal network or over the Internet. Developed in 1971, this protocol served as one of the objectives for the development of the Internet.Xmodem is an alternative to the FTP protocol. It was popular with bulletin board services in the late 1970s because of its simplicity and ease of use.Kermit is a binary (0's and 1's) and text file transfer protocol designed in the early 1980s. For the transfer to occur a file conversion takes place to binary format before transmittal and then converted back afterwards. This allowed for file transfers over dissimilar systems. The advantage of these file transfer protocols is that they share information between different computer systems and different formats.

E-mail Protocols
The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) allows an e-mail client to access e-mail messages on a remote e-mail server.IMAP supports two modes of operation: online and offline. In online mode, e-mail clients using IMAP leave the e-mail messages on the server until the user purposely deletes them. In offline mode, the e-mail is downloaded and then deleted. This characteristic of the IMAP operation allows multiple clients to manage the same mailbox. The upshot is that the mail stays on the server automatically until deleted.POP (Post Office Protocol) is an alternate e-mail protocol that supports simple download and delete for access to remote mailboxes. Most POP clients have an option to leave e-mail on the server after download. However, e-mail clients typically follow this procedure. They connect to the server, retrieve their messages, store them on the user's local PC and then delete them from the server and disconnect. The upshot is, the mail is automatically deleted unless kept. The advantage of both of these protocols is enhanced e-mail management.

E-mail protocols allow personal information to go to other individuals.
Software Developer Protocols
Software developers use protocols in their work. Platform-based database protocols like JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity) or ADO (active x database objects) have a performance advantage. Also, flexibility and reuse are two main advantages of using a neutral platform protocol such as SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol). This is a protocol specification that facilitates the exchange of structured information in web services.By using protocols, software architects and program developers can determine the opportunity cost of the project, that is, whether the development is going to be faster versus whether the program is going to be faster. These performance versus flexibility alternatives affect the coding decision, which impacts the way the program will run.The advantage of using these protocols is that they improve the performance of programs and provide flexibility in program design.

The Advantages Disadvantages of Using Functions Procedures in Computer ProgrammingIn Feburary 2016 17,

In Feburary 2016 17,
Procedures and functions operate on the same principle of writing a small chunk of code that you can call, rather than writing the same code in multiple places in your program. This practice cuts down on program size at the very least, and often improves the readability of the program. Most programming languages contain built-in functions, and support the capability to build procedures and functions in your code.
Reduced Coding Time
An advantage of using functions and procedures is that coding time is reduced. If you only have to write a routine one time and code statements that call it, you save the time of coding the same routine multiple times, even if you opt to cut and paste the routine. The reduction in coding time helps to reduce the total project delivery time.
Reduced Debugging Time
In addition to reducing coding time, using procedures and functions help to reduce debugging time. When you put the same code in multiple places it is sometimes difficult to make debugging changes in all of those places. If you make the change in one place, but fail to make the change in the other two places it is easy to become confused. This makes it difficult to find the problem and eliminate it from every place in the program.
Maintenance Effects
The effects on program maintenance, which is the most costly of the development stages, can be both good and bad. As with debugging, if the problem is in a called procedure, then you can find it once and eliminate it quickly. However, if the programmer who wrote the code overused procedures and functions, the program can be harder to understand. The harder to understand, the longer it takes to fix a program.

How to Host a Cheap Baby ShowerIn Feburary 2016 09,

In Feburary 2016 09,
Choose where the shower will be held. Your home or a friend's home costs nothing and gives you more flexibility on time and decorating. A backyard baby shower provides a natural decor, saving money on decorations.
Determine the best time to have the shower. Plan for in-between meal times to save on food costs. A 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. brunch or a 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. tea each require simple refreshments.
Create the guest list. If other showers are planned -- co-workers, extended family -- don't feel that you have to invite everyone to yours. Keep the list as small as possible for an intimate event.
Collect guests' email or mailing addresses. Save money by sending an electronic invitation or by creating your own to mail. Request an RSVP with enough notice to adequately plan your food and beverage needs.
Purchase as many refreshments in advance, so you can take advantage of sales. Most beverages can be stored until needed and some food items will also keep.
Throwing the Shower
Shop at discount stores for decorations and supplies. Purchase non-baby-related decorations in the colors of the nursery or the theme of the shower. Add matching plates and napkins in solid colors to a few packs of the more expensive printed items. Or, for greater savings, use your own dishes and utensils.
Create decorations out of items the future mom can keep as gifts. Diaper 'cakes' are popular gifts and double as an eye-catching centerpiece. Pin baby clothes to a length of sturdy string and hang as a clothesline decoration that mom can take home.
A diaper cake is a great decoration-turned-gift.
Make light foods that guests can snack on without sitting down for a formal meal. Chips and dip, finger sandwiches, raw vegetables and cheese and crackers are easy to eat as you mingle. Mini quiches, fruit and muffins are tasty options for a brunch shower. Make cupcakes in place of purchasing an elaborate cake. Personalize them with matching frosting or the baby's first initial. Offer hot or cold teas, lemonade and a light punch for beverages. To save more money, make it a potluck and ask each guest to bring an appetizer or dessert.
Fill a clear jar with candy for a 'guess how many are inside' game. The winner receives an inexpensive gift like soap or a candle, while each guest can scoop some candy into a plastic bag for their favor.
