Look at the first number in the 'date' block of digits in your time stamp. If you're in the United States, the first number in this 'date' block will be the month. If you're anywhere else in the world, the first number will be the day.
Look at the second number in the 'date' block of digits in your time stamp. If you're in the United States, the second number will be the day. If you're anywhere else in the world, the second number will be the month.
Look at the third number in the 'date' block of digits in your time stamp. No matter where you are, this third number will always be your year. You now have the information you need to determine exactly what month, date and year a time stamp represents.
Look at the second block of numbers to the right of the date block in your time stamp. This second block of numbers is the 'time' block. The first number represents the hour in which an event took place. The second number represents the minute in which an event took place, and the third number represents the seconds in which an event took place.

How to Upload ASP.Net Files to a ServerIn Feburary 2016 27,
In Feburary 2016 27,
Download and install an FTP client. FileZilla, SmartFTP or FTP Client are popular choices; however, any FTP client that you are comfortable with will suffice.
Compile your project before deploying it if you are working with the Web Application Project (WAP); this step is not necessary if you used the Web Site Project (WSP) to build your application (though it can be useful for finding compile-time errors before launching the site). Precompiling can be done through Visual Studio and the command line.
Open your FTP program. Individual FTP clients require slightly different methods to accomplish this. In FileZilla, select the “Site Manager” icon from the tool bar, then click the “New Site” button that appears and enter a name for your site. In SmartFTP, select “New Remote Browser” from the “File” menu. In FTP Client, select 'File,' then “New Connection.'
Enter the necessary information to connect your FTP client to your server. This information is usually provided by your web host provider and includes your host name (usually the part of your domain name after “www,” for example, xyz.com) or server, user name or log-in and password. Save the information. Click “Connect,” if necessary.
Click and drag the files you want to transfer from the computer side of the partition in your FTP client to the server side of the partition.
Test your site to ensure that all aspects of your application are working properly.

How to Pick a Website BuilderIn Feburary 2016 26,
In Feburary 2016 26,
Read about Site Build it for Webmasters (link under Resources, below) to discover why Site Build It receives top ranks from both new website writers and experienced webmasters. I have personally used both Site Build It and cheap web hosting, and find the cost of SBI is negligible compared to the time-saving benefits provided by the website builder.
Resist the temptation to buy cheap domains at 99 cents to $10, along with inexpensive monthly web hosting, unless you have extensive HTML programming skills and search engine optimization experience. You will choose a website domain name and receive a year's web hosting with your website builder purchase.
Read reviews and success stories from others who have used the website builder, both for inspiration and to learn from their successes.
Compare Site Build It to other website builders. In my comparisons, I found that Site Build has no real competition that can match what they offer. They stay on top of Google and internet resources to ensure that you have all the tools you need to build the best website possible.

How Does Web Hosting Work?In Feburary 2016 26,
In Feburary 2016 26,
Before you put a Web-hosting plan to work, you need to register a domain name. Some companies offer both services as a bundle, but you can buy the two parts separately from different companies. If you shop around, you may find a better price or an uncommon top-level domain such as '.us' or '.tv' not sold at every registrar. If you buy the domain separately, you need to set the name servers on the domain registrar's website to point to the addresses provided by your Web host. These steps vary from site to site, so check your registrar's help page for specific directions.
How Shared Hosting Works
Shared hosting places your website on the same server hardware as many other websites. This setup makes shared hosting affordable but gives you no control over the server hardware and software itself. Shared hosting plans often offer perks such as unlimited bandwidth and support for multiple domain names. The major limitation to shared hosting is CPU time: Every person who connects to your website uses some of the server's processing power. If too many people connect, at the same time, especially if you have complex scripts on your site, the websites of everyone on the server slow down. Use too much CPU time and your Web host might restrict your site or force you to upgrade to a dedicated server.
Dedicated Hosting and VPS
Dedicated servers avoid the CPU restrictions on shared servers and allow you to install custom software, but they often cost far more and include restrictions on bandwidth and drive space. In most cases, whether you are buying hosting for a personal site, a blog or even a small business, you can safely start out with shared hosting. If your site becomes popular or you need to alter your server's configuration, talk to your Web host to move up to a dedicated server so you won't have to rebuild your entire site for another host. Some Web hosts sell virtual private server hosting. VPS hosting does not provide additional CPU resources, but you can install software on the server and alter its settings.
Putting Your Site to Use
Setting up a site from scratch requires a significant amount of Web design and coding experience, but there's no need to reinvent the wheel. Content management systems, such as WordPress, Drupal and MediaWiki, provide a backbone for your site so you can focus on creating content. Some Web hosts offer one-click installation of these utilities, but if yours does not, download the CMS of your choice from its website and follow the directions to put it on your server and get started. Although each CMS offers customizations, WordPress and Drupal focus primarily on sites with permanent content and few authors, such as blogs, while MediaWiki works best with frequently updated pages, such as its best-known use, Wikipedia.
Running Your Own Host
Hosting your own website from home might sound like an easy way to save money, but it requires far more tech experience. If you set up your server incorrectly, hackers flood in from all over the Internet. DIY hosting requires you to own server hardware, a potentially pricy investment if you want your site to support a large number of visitors. Check with your Internet service provider before trying to run a server, as many explicitly block the practice unless you subscribe to a business-class plan.

How to Host a Bingo PartyIn Feburary 2016 20,
In Feburary 2016 20,
Discuss with your friends, coworkers and family members your idea to host a bingo party. Once you talk about it a bit with other people, you should know how many people would actually be interested in attending your bingo night.
Choose a night that many of your friends and family members can attend the bingo party. When hosting a party, it is nice to choose a night of the week that most people can come to and a time that is not too late.
Invite a good number of people to attend your bingo game night. You can either tell people about the party by word of mouth or by sending out invitations.
Ask that each person who is planning to attend to bring a small appetizer or desert to munch on throughout the night. Bingo night can be as inexpensive or as expensive as you want it to be. Buy the drinks for the evening.
Search online for bingo cards, but if you choose, you can make your own on the computer. You must buy enough bingo cards and chips to supply each person at the bingo party.
Decide if you want the bingo night to be for pure fun or if you want to charge each person per game so that the winner can take home a cash prize.

How to Publish a Website OnlineIn Feburary 2016 19,
In Feburary 2016 19,
Purchase a domain name. Before you can even begin thinking about a publishing a website, you're going to want to have a domain name. Coming up with a good domain name can be a challenge as many of the best names are already taken. The key to selecting a good domain name is to be creative and try to find something catchy and easy to remember while still representing your website. You can search for available domain names on websites such as GoDaddy and Network Solutions, among many others. Domain names can be purchased for varying amounts of time ranging from one year to life.
Purchase a hosting plan. Once you've picked out your domain name, you'll need to decide what type of hosting plan you need. Your hosting will include how much web space your site will have, how much data transfer your site will be capable of providing, how many visitors can be on the site at one time, and how many e-mail addresses your site will have, among many other features.
Create your website. If you are new to website creation, many hosting companies offer programs that will assist you. These programs will basically let you enter everything in plain text and convert it all to HTML. This is often referred to as 'What you see is what you get.' These programs will also let you easily drop in photos and other documents. If you don't need assistance, you can use any of the various editing programs that are on the market.
Publish your site. Now that your website is created, you can publish your site simply by uploading what you have created directly into the root file of your web-hosting space. Your host will have complete instructions on how to publish to the root file.

How to Insert a Time Stamp in PHP MySQLIn Feburary 2016 19,
In Feburary 2016 19,
Create a new field in your database. Open the 'phpMyAdmin' utility for your MySQL databases. Select the database of your choice from the left-hand menu. Select the table in which you wish to place the new time stamp field and click on the 'Structure' action item. Hit the 'Go' button next to the 'Add One New Field' selection.
Set the attributes of the new field. Under the 'Field' input box enter your new field's name. Name the field 'Timestamp.' Select the 'Type' drop-down bar and tag the 'Timestamp' options. This defines your new field as a 'Time Stamp.' Click on the 'Default' drop-down bar. If desired, select the 'Current_Timestamp' option. If selected, this option automatically creates a new time stamp whenever a new record is entered into your database. Now, click the 'Attributes' drop-down box. Select the 'On Update Current_Timestamp' menu item. If this option is selected, the time stamp field will update every time a change is made to your database record.
Save the changes. Select the 'Save' option at the bottom right-hand corner of the window. The changes to your database structure are now saved. From this point on, the time stamp field automatically populates each time a new record is entered.
Using PHP
Capture the current time using the PHP date function and assign it to a PHP variable. The PHP date function takes the current time and formats it according to a set of values that you enter. Consider this example:$current_time = date ('Y-m-d H:i:s');In this line of code, it calls the date function and enters the values which format the output into the format of year, month, day, hour, minute and second or '2012-12-21 06:26:36.' This is the exact time stamp format used by MySQL. In this example, the date is assigned to the current-time variable.
Insert the time stamp into the MySQL time stamp field of the database table of your choice. Use 'PHP's mysql_query' function to complete this step. Here is the example.$query = 'UPDATE
yourDatabaseTable
SET
timestamp
= '$current_time' WHERE
yourPrimaryKey
='$primary_key_variable' ';mysql_query($query) or die('The new time was not inserted');
Upload the PHP file to your server.

The Advantages Disadvantages of Using Functions Procedures in Computer ProgrammingIn Feburary 2016 17,
In Feburary 2016 17,
Procedures and functions operate on the same principle of writing a small chunk of code that you can call, rather than writing the same code in multiple places in your program. This practice cuts down on program size at the very least, and often improves the readability of the program. Most programming languages contain built-in functions, and support the capability to build procedures and functions in your code.
Reduced Coding Time
An advantage of using functions and procedures is that coding time is reduced. If you only have to write a routine one time and code statements that call it, you save the time of coding the same routine multiple times, even if you opt to cut and paste the routine. The reduction in coding time helps to reduce the total project delivery time.
Reduced Debugging Time
In addition to reducing coding time, using procedures and functions help to reduce debugging time. When you put the same code in multiple places it is sometimes difficult to make debugging changes in all of those places. If you make the change in one place, but fail to make the change in the other two places it is easy to become confused. This makes it difficult to find the problem and eliminate it from every place in the program.
Maintenance Effects
The effects on program maintenance, which is the most costly of the development stages, can be both good and bad. As with debugging, if the problem is in a called procedure, then you can find it once and eliminate it quickly. However, if the programmer who wrote the code overused procedures and functions, the program can be harder to understand. The harder to understand, the longer it takes to fix a program.

What Is a 1099In Feburary 2016 15,
In Feburary 2016 15,
A 1099-INT form summarizes the interest income you've received during the year. Interest income is the amount of money you receive on earnings from savings accounts, bonds and certain treasury accounts. The interest you earn on certain types of savings accounts is taxable, just like earned income from a job. The banks where you hold your accounts send these forms at tax time, usually before February 1.
Sections
The 1099-INT form shows basic information about you as the account holder, including name, address, and account number. In addition to the interest income earned for the year, it also shows any early withdrawal penalty and federal income tax paid on the earnings. If any of the interest earnings were tax-exempt, meaning that you weren't required to pay tax on the amount, that figure is also printed on the 1099-INT form.
1099-INT from the State
In some cases, the state may send a 1099-INT form to a taxpayer to account for interest earned on tax refund payments due. For instance, if the taxpayer overpaid his obligation for the year, the state revenue office may pay him interest for the time the office held onto the extra funds. The same is sometimes true for localities -- towns and cities.
Other Considerations
It is possible to receive more than one 1099-INT form in one year. For instance, if you have more than one bank savings account earning interest, you receive a form for each of those accounts. If you do not receive all of your 1099-INT forms by February 1, you can sometimes log into your bank accounts to retrieve the forms online. It is common for banks to provide printable 1099-INT forms for retrieval over the Internet.

Why Do I Have so Many Iexplore.exe Running?In Feburary 2016 13,
In Feburary 2016 13,
Iexplore.exe is a process associated with Microsoft Internet Explorer, the Web browser created by Microsoft. If you open the Windows Task Manager, by pressing 'Ctrl,' 'Shift' and 'Escape,' you may notice several instances of iexplore.exe running. This is most likely because you have several Microsoft Internet Explorer windows open at the same time. Each time you open a Microsoft Internet Explorer window, a corresponding iexplore.exe process runs. When you close the window, the iexplore.exe process stops.
Virus?
Some viruses install an iexplore.exe file that may appear in the Windows Task Manager as an iexplore.exe process. Viruses install files with the same name as legitimate Windows files in an effort to remain undetected. To determine whether an instance of iexplore.exe belongs to a virus, open the Windows Task Manager and click the 'General' tab. Click 'Show Processes From All Users' and 'Image Name.' A list of all running processes appears in alphabetical order under the 'Image Name' heading. Right-click the first instance of 'iexplore.exe' and select 'Properties.' Click the 'General' tab. Next to 'Location,' it should say 'C:\Windows\System32.' If it does not, the instance of iexplore.exe likely belongs to a virus. Do this for all of the instances of iexplore.exe running.
Warnings
If there are multiple instances of iexplore.exe running and you do not have any Internet Explorer windows open, do not assume that the iexplore.exe processes belong to a virus. Some viruses launch the legitimate iexplore.exe process in an effort to connect to the Internet. Thus, you should still check to see whether the process belongs to a virus using the aforementioned method.
Removal
To stop an instance of 'iexplore.exe' that belongs to a virus, open the Windows Task Manager, right-click the 'iexplore.exe' belonging to the virus and select 'End Process.' While this ends the process, it does not remove the virus. Thus, you should run an up to date anti-virus program. Several free anti-virus programs are available online, including Microsoft Security Essentials, Avast! Free Antivirus 6 and AVG Antivirus Free Edition.

What Are the Benefits of FTP?In Feburary 2016 11,
In Feburary 2016 11,
Files are uploaded to an FTP server. The server has a large memory capacity to host the files available for transfer. Files can be accessed through any Internet browser or any FTP software, referred to as a 'client.' Sometimes files are available permanently, but oftentimes, especially through a company, they may be available only temporarily. Check with the administrator to find out whether there is an automatic delete time frame.
Access
One way to access these files directly is to use the FTP address through an Internet browser. The address will be similar to a website address, except instead of 'http://,' it will begin with 'ftp://.' You may need a login ID and password to access some FTP sites, which will typically automatically pop up in a dialogue box.
Inside an FTP Site
Once you're logged in, there will usually be a file structure, with main folders and subfolders, similar to what you may have in 'My Documents' on your computer. This structure is set up by an administrator. Folders and files may be public or private, and access may include adding, moving, editing and/or deleting; so, if it seems like you can't do something, check with the administrator about the limits to your access.
'Hidden' FTP
However, when downloading from the internet, the FTP site is probably using an anonymous login, which is why you may have never known it was happening. The FTP address itself is usually hidden from the end user, though the file transfer process is the same.
Easier Access
If you start using an FTP site regularly, find yourself with multiple IDs or just want an easier access point, then an FTP client is something to consider. There are many free options available. It makes uploading much easier and protects downloads---simply drag and drop. It will store all of your frequented FTP sites, along with their respective logins and passwords, in one convenient place. Check out the resources below for a start, find one that suits your needs and preferences, and let the file transfers begin.

HTTP Vs. FTP File TransferIn Feburary 2016 10,
In Feburary 2016 10,
In order to update a file to a website, all the user needs is a modern internet browser. However, on the server side of the website, a site programmer has to implement a system that can handle a file upload. The programmer has several options to perform this, from a simple HTML upload to more advanced forms with languages such as PHP and ASP, for use in a forum or a blog. With downloading, all a user has to do is click on a link.
Uploading via FTP
FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, predates HTTP by quite some time. However, FTP is used primarily by webmasters and web developers who need to upload files directly to their servers. In order to use an FTP server, you will need an FTP client to connect to it. Free FTP programs include FileZilla and CoreFTP, and can be found in the resources section below.
Advantages and Disadvantages of HTTP
HTTP uploads provide an incredibly simple method of uploading files to a server, with minimal knowledge about file transfers. Downloading a file is also incredibly easy too. However, the disadvantages lie in HTTP's lack of power when it comes to file uploading. Also, a programmer needs to have the knowledge required to create the form in HTML, in order to upload the file in question. This especially is true if the file is for a social network similar to Myspace or Facebook that they're creating.
Advantages and Disadvantages of FTP
Using a FTP server offers advantages of its own. For one, a user can use a program to perform a mass upload to a server, not having to worry about repeatedly having to rebrowse for files and re-upload them using one form. Downloads can also be done en masse as well. Unfortunately, an FTP server still requires an FTP client to use, and the use of one would be particularly cumbersome to those who just wanted to upload a picture or two.
Differences
Ultimately, FTP and HTTP file transfers have completely different purposes. FTP's file transfer purpose is more or less for website maintenance and batch uploads, while HTTP is for client-end work and for end users to upload things such as movies, pictures and other files to the server. Often times, a programmer will use FTP to upload the files that allow an end-user to upload files via HTML/HTTP as well.

How to Increase FTP Transfer SpeedIn Feburary 2016 09,
In Feburary 2016 09,
As PCWorld notes, 'Hard drives are classic bottlenecks, and they definitely slow down computers.' During an FTP transfer, your hard drive is constantly reading and writing data. If you have a slower drive, those reads and writes will be slower than if you had a faster one. Upgrade to a faster hard drive to speed up FTP and computing in general. A Solid Date Drive, or SSD, costs more than regular hard drives, but it's faster.
Other Hard Drive Tips
You can speed up FTP by terminating other activities that use the hard drive extensively. These activities include downloading files and rendering video. Ensure that Windows defrags your hard drive periodically to optimize your data. By default, the Disk Defragmenter runs weekly, but you can change the schedule to run more frequently or run it manually any time.
Upload Speed Vs. Download Speed
Internet Service Providers often sell plans where upload speed is slower than download speed. If your FTP seem slow, review your ISP agreement to see how fast your upload speed is. If it’s a low transfer rate, that may explain why uploads via FTP are slower than you’d like them to be. Ask your ISP about upgrade plans if you need faster upload speed. A faster upload speed also make browser uploads and video chat sessions faster.
Work More Efficiently
The free FTP built into Windows is functional and is useful for performing simple tasks. However, you can manage large numbers of files and folders faster using a third-party FTP client such as FTP Voyager, FileZilla or CuteFTP (links in Resources). These programs let you drag and drop files between your desktop to the FTP. They make it faster to connect to FTP servers by storing login information and settings. You can also use File Manager and Internet Explorer to drag and drop files when you visit an FTP site. Many third-party FTP clients enable you to transfer files faster by using several simultaneous connections. Check your program's documentation to learn how to use this feature. Your Internet Service Provider may also have a built-in FTP client that helps you transfer files to and from your hosted website. Because these clients work using your browser, you don't have to install any software on your computer.
FTP Automation Tips
Windows 8 and 8.1, like older Windows versions, still allows you to issue FTP commands from the command line. Access it by Typing 'Windows-R' followed by 'Cmd.' Press 'Enter' to view the command prompt. Some people may use the command line FTP to run scripts that automate FTP activities. A script, for instance, may log you in automatically, switch to a specific folder and upload some files. Some third-party FTP clients, such as CuteFTP also allow you to automate FTP processes using Visual Basic and other types of scripts.

A script, for instance, may log you in automatically, switch to a specific folder and upload some files. Some third-party FTP clients, such as CuteFTP also allow you to automate FTP processes using Visual Basic and other types of scripts.
