How to Upload Files to WordPress Larger Than 2MbIn Feburary 2016 28,

In Feburary 2016 28,
Access PHP Config. Log in to your cPanel account and scroll down to “Software and Services.” Next, click “PHP Configuration.”
Install the php.ini file. Once you are on this screen, click the button that says “Install PHP.INI Master File.”
Access the php.ini file. Go back to the cPanel main screen. Click “File Manager” and then “Webroot.” Find the file that says “php.ini” and select “Edit.”
Change the maximum file size. Once the configuration file opens, find the line that says “upload_max_filesize=” and change the file size to 300M. Also change the line that says “post_max_size=” to 300M.
Increase the time allowed. Find the lines that say “max_execution_time =30” and “max_input_time =60” and change them both to 120. This allows for the server to allow 120 seconds to execute, or load, scripts and parse data. This may be necessary if you are uploading large files.
Save the changes. Click the button that says “Save Changes.”
Test the settings. Log in to WordPress and try to upload a file that is greater than 2 MB but less than 100 MB. If you still receive an error message, contact your Web host.

How to Pick a Website BuilderIn Feburary 2016 26,

In Feburary 2016 26,
Read about Site Build it for Webmasters (link under Resources, below) to discover why Site Build It receives top ranks from both new website writers and experienced webmasters. I have personally used both Site Build It and cheap web hosting, and find the cost of SBI is negligible compared to the time-saving benefits provided by the website builder.
Resist the temptation to buy cheap domains at 99 cents to $10, along with inexpensive monthly web hosting, unless you have extensive HTML programming skills and search engine optimization experience. You will choose a website domain name and receive a year's web hosting with your website builder purchase.
Read reviews and success stories from others who have used the website builder, both for inspiration and to learn from their successes.
Compare Site Build It to other website builders. In my comparisons, I found that Site Build has no real competition that can match what they offer. They stay on top of Google and internet resources to ensure that you have all the tools you need to build the best website possible.

How Does Chat Work?In Feburary 2016 23,

In Feburary 2016 23,
Internet chat has evolved quite a bit from its original inception, but the basic premise of chatting remains the same. Users at different computers are able to connect to each other, using either a web browser or a dedicated program to serve as a go-between for the chat participants' computers. Chatting often allows multiple users to connect at the same time, though some chat programs may limit the total number of users who can be connected at once. There are two main forms of chatting that you will find; browser-based chat rooms that don't require dedicated software to run, and those chat clients and instant messengers which are dedicated programs on their own.
Browser-Based Chat Rooms
Browser-based chat rooms come in a number of different forms. There are simple HTML chats that refresh themselves automatically in order to display messages that were posted since the previous refresh. Then you have Java or Flash-based chat rooms that update the conversation in real-time. Regardless of the type of update system that a chat room uses, the way that it functions remains basically the same. The chat room is hosted on a web server, and users connect to the server in a manner similar viewing a web page. The users don't connect directly to each other in most cases, but instead simply receive the updates from the server that show what everyone else has typed or posted in the chat. This allows users to interact with each other without opening up their computer to a direct connection with an unknown person. If an error occurs with the server that the chat room is hosted on, the room will be unavailable until the error is resolved.
Instant Messaging and Chat Clients
Instant messaging programs and dedicated chat clients work in a similar manner to chat rooms, though there is no web-based interface involved. Though these programs and chat clients may be focused on small conversations and occasional file transfers, there is still a server which acts as a go-between for the participants. Each message which is sent travels first to the server that the chat client or program is connected to, and from there it is sent to the appropriate recipient's computer. The server acts more as a routing agent than a host, with much of the functionality of the chat coming from the software installed on the users' computers. Should an error occur with the central server, users may be disconnected from the chat network or some messages may not be received.

How to Read an XLS File in PHPIn Feburary 2016 22,

In Feburary 2016 22,
Go to the PHP Excel Reader download site, and download the package called 'php-excel-reader' (see Resources).
Unzip the downloaded file by double-clicking on it.
Upload the file called 'excel_reader2.php' to your website. Use FTP or your Web hosting service's file upload service to do this. The file should be placed in a folder where your PHP scripts can find it. You can put it in the same folder as the PHP script you wish to read Excel files in, or you can put it in a folder that is in the 'include path.' The 'include path' is a set of folders where you can put files that your PHP script will always be able to find, even if your script is in a totally different place. Your website might have a folder called 'includes' that is in the include path. If it does, put 'excel_reader2.php' there. If it doesn't, put it in the same folder as the PHP scripts with which you wish to use it.
Read an XLS File
Upload an Excel file to use as an example. Create a simple Excel file, and save it as 'example.xls'. Open the file and fill in the first three columns of the first row with the words 'column 1', 'column 2' and 'column 3'. Then on the second row, fill the first three columns with the text '1-1', '2-1' and '3-1'. Then fill the first three columns of the third row with the text '1-2', '2-2' and '3-2'. Save the file and upload it to the same folder where you uploaded excel_reader2.php.
Open your favorite text editor, and save a text file called 'example.php'. This will be your PHP script for this tutorial.
Write your PHP script to open the Excel file, read the table of data and then print the data out in the user's Web browser. Use this code to do it:
rowcount(); $r++) { //walk through each rowfor ($c = 1; $c
colcount(); $c++) { //walk through each column
echo $xls->raw($r, $c) . ' '; //Display the data in that cell
}echo '\n'; //make a new line at the end of each row} echo '
'; //close the HTML we made earlier?>
Save and upload your PHP file to your website. If you were able to put PHP Excel Reader in the include path, you may put your PHP file wherever you wish. If not, put your PHP file in the same folder as PHP Excel Reader.
To check your work, visit example.php in your Web browser. You should see the table of data from your Excel file printed in your browser window.

How to Calculate the Cost of a WebsiteIn Feburary 2016 13,

In Feburary 2016 13,
Select a website design service (if you do not intend to build the site yourself) and discuss your website needs and a price for the design. The more customization you desire, the higher the price will be. Make a note of the total cost of the site creation and ensure that the designer includes in the price a couple of weeks or months for tweaking and correction. If you want to design your own website, skip this step.
Select website design software, and make a note of the price. Website design software ranges in price from hundreds of dollars for software used mainly by skilled designers to very low-cost software, used mainly by amateurs or beginners. You might be able to find free website design software that suits your purposes if you want a basic, information-only website.
Determine whether you will use a pre-built template for your website or design your site from scratch. Some website building software comes with free templates. Other software offers more elaborate templates for a fee. Once you select your design software, check the availability of templates and determine a price for a template, if you want to use one.
Select royalty-free art for your website, if you want custom artwork. If you're designing your website from scratch, you need artwork to make it more attractive. Because most business people are not graphic artists, purchasing royalty-free artwork is the best option for a custom website look. Record the price of all the art you want for your website.
Website Hosting and Maintenance
Choose a name for your website and determine the price of registering the name. Many online services offer domain names for sale and have query systems that allow you to select a name that is not currently in use and offer you pricing for the name. Many domain name registry services offer discounts for registration longer than one year.
Determine the cost of website hosting. Many companies offer website hosting at varying prices and services included in the price. Choose a company that is reliable and meets the needs regarding the size of your website. Do not choose a company that barely can handle your business needs now, because if you continue to grow, you will have to move your site. Hosting can be purchased monthly or sometimes paid in advance at a discounted rate.
Determine the cost of maintenance. If you designed your own website, then maintenance might include the purchase of additional artwork as your business grows. If you hired a web designer who makes all updates and changes to your website, then add the yearly fee for maintenance to your list, if the designer charges a one-time fee. If your web designer charges by the update, estimate the number of updates or changes you will require during a year and add that cost to your list.
Add all of the individual costs to determine a total estimated cost for the building, launch and maintenance of your website.

How to Sell a Home to an International BuyerIn Feburary 2016 10,

In Feburary 2016 10,
Advertise your property in a foreign newspaper. You can easily do a quick search for a newspaper in the countries you wish to advertise to, and through their website either place and ad directly, or, be able to locate the contact information for their classifieds department. Remember to keep in mind foreign currency rates when getting prices.
Make your own website. One of the quickest and least expensive ways is to create your own website for the property. You can easily find a cheap or free website hosting service and can even hire a web designer to help you post the site if you feel like you are not technologically prepared to build a website on your own. Also, keep in mind that many hosting companies now offer very simple website building software that just about anyone can use, and on top of that most of these companies offer the software for free.
Place an ad in a foreign magazine. If you truly have a great piece of luxury property, you may want to consider taking out an ad in a foreign magazine. Look for aspects of your home that are unique and look for magazines that match that uniqueness. So for example, if you have a gourmet kitchen, you may want to put and ad out in an international cooking magazine. Or if you have lakefront property with water access, you may want to take out an ad in an international boating or fishing magazine. Just be creative.
Post an ad on Craigslist or other international classifieds sites. Cragislist has made it as simple as possible to advertise your property to an international audience. Posting an ad on Craigslist and similar sites is also quite simple as well as free. You will not only be able to post a large amount of text regarding your property but you will also be able to post photos, and even a link to your website featuring the property if you have one.
Make your home stand out. The best way to sell your home to any buyer, including an international buyer, is to find its selling points. Find what makes your home stand out among the many luxury properties and lofts and really sell that point. Whether it's the view, the square footage, the location or the amenities, highlight them as much as you can in your ad to get your potential buyers hooked on learning more and potentially buying your property.

How to Choose a Hosting ProviderIn Feburary 2016 08,

In Feburary 2016 08,
Make a list of the hosting needs of your website before searching for a host. This includes technical requirements like server platform and hardware requirements, disk space needed, bandwidth requirements and other hosting features. Other features include compatibility with web authoring tools like Dreamweaver or FrontPage, support for video clips, and support for e-commerce activities.
Research the reputation of each potential hosting service provider. Check user reviews to find what customers have to say about their experiences with the hosting provider.
Evaluate reliability and scalability. The hosting provider should not only be reliable and fast, it should guarantee at least 99% uptime if not 99.5%. They should have a refund policy if they fail to provide the minimum speed guaranteed. Also, look for a service provider who is prepared for scalability. For example, if you want to increase your disk space, bandwidth or mySQL database, they should be able to do it without much problem.
Require excellent technical support and services. The provider should have competent technicians available all 7 days a week round the clock to help resolve your problems in a timely fashion. You can gauge their responsiveness by sending them some general inquiry mails and noting the response time. A response time of less than 24 hours is okay, but anything more than a day is considered poor service. A good hosting provider should provide support systems like toll free numbers, 24/7 email support, live chat, an online knowledgebase, and helpful FAQs.
Assess payment plan options. Determine if you will have to pay on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis. Many hosting providers offer the option of monthly payment. In case you are not satisfied with their services, you can switch over to another provider after a month without having to worry about any refunds.

How to Make Graphs in HTMLIn Feburary 2016 01,

In Feburary 2016 01,
Launch your HTML editor. Use a text editor if you don't have an HTML editor -- TextEdit and Notepad both come pre-installed on Apple and Windows operating systems, respectively.
Select 'File' and 'Open' from the program's navigation menu. Navigate to find the HTML file you wish to add the graph.
Decide where the graph will be featured on your Web page. Place the following code into the HTML:
Add additional tables to create more bar graph rows. You can adjust the three attributes associated with 'bgcolor,' 'height' and 'width': change '#FF3300' and '#99CCFF' to the color codes of your choice; adjust the height -- '15' -- and width -- '200' and '150' -- of each graph bar. For your graph to appear vertical instead of horizontal, set the 'height' attribute number larger than the 'width' one.
Select 'File' and 'Save' from the program's navigation menu.
Launch your FTP software. Upload the updated HTML document to your Web server. Preview the Web page to ensure your graph is displaying properly.

How to Purchase an Email AddressIn Feburary 2016 01,

In Feburary 2016 01,
Purchase your own domain name for your email address. The domain name is the portion of the email address that comes after the '@' symbol in the email address. For example, mypetstore.com or myconsultingfirm.com.You can purchase a domain name for your email address from most web hosting providers. Instead of choosing the 'Web Hosting' option, just choose the 'Hosted Email' option.
Compare email hosting providers to find a provider that is suitable for your needs. When comparing, take into consideration how many email boxes you are allowed to setup, as well as the amount of storage that is available for each mailbox. Consider other options that are important to you, such as being able to access your email via webmail, email client, or PDA. Consider the daily sending limits and whether there is 24/7 customer service and backup servers.
Use a valid credit card to sign up for an email hosting account. The mail hosting account will only cost you and average of $1 to $2 per month, whereas a full-fledged web hosting account can cost you around $10 to $15 per month.
Log into your email hosting account. Create the mailboxes you would like to use with your account. For example, customerservice@mypetstore.com or feedback@myconsultingfirm.com. You don't have to setup all of your mailboxes at one time. You can create additional mailboxes as needs arise.

How to Upload Files in Binary ModeIn Feburary 2016 01,

In Feburary 2016 01,
Open your FTP program. If you are using a desktop-based FTP program, find it on your computer and open it. If you are using Web-based software, go to your website's control panel and log in to the FTP section.
Find the FTP settings and change the transfer mode. To ensure you are uploading in binary mode, you have to change the settings in your FTP client to 'binary.' The way to do this depends on the FTP program you are using. Search for the 'Options' or 'Preferences' menu and then 'Transfer mode.' Once you find this, select 'binary.' In some FTP clients, you can select 'binary' at the bottom of the screen without needing to open any additional menus.
Transfer your files. Once the setting is saved, you can use the FTP client to transfer your files. On one side of the screen you will see the files that are saved on your computer. The other side will represent the Web space that you are uploading to. Select the files you want to upload, and click the arrow or 'transfer' button. You will know your upload has been successful when you see the files on the side of the screen that represents your Web space.
