How to Connect to an FTP SiteIn Feburary 2016 27,

In Feburary 2016 27,
Most public FTP sites don't require you to have an account, and instead allow you to log in anonymously. In most cases you won't be required to log in at all, while in others you must enter 'anonymous' as your username and your email address as your password. If the FTP site is restricted, which is often the case with commercial or university sites, you will be prompted to enter the username and password assigned to you by the site administrator.
Web Browser Access
Probably the simplest way to access an FTP site is with your Web browser. If you see a link to the FTP site on a Web page, just click the link. If you have only the FTP site address, enter it in your browser's address bar. Use the format ftp://ftp.domain.com. If the site requires a username or password, your browser prompts you for the information. Once you're at the site, click a folder to view its contents or click the link at the top of the page to go up a level. You can click a file to begin the download process. The main drawback to using your Web browser is that you can't upload files to the FTP site. For this, you will need an FTP client.
Windows File Explorer
If you use Windows, you already have an FTP client built into the operating system. File Explorer in Windows 8, or Windows Explorer in previous versions, doubles as both a file manager and an FTP client. Enter the FTP site address into the address bar using the format ftp://ftp.domain.com. Press 'Enter' to access the FTP site and views its files and directories. The advantage of using File Explorer is that you can drag and drop files to and from the FTP site. In addition, you can right-click anywhere in the right pane and select 'Add a Network Location' to begin a wizard that allows you to set up the FTP site as a permanent network drive.
Mac OS X
If you use a Mac, you can access an FTP site directly from a Finder window. Press 'Command-K' and then enter the FTP site address in the form ftp://ftp.gnu.org. OS X will open a new Finder window for the FTP site. You can drag files to and from the FTP site using this window.
Other FTP Clients
If you plan to do a lot of file transfers, or you need to manage several FTP sites, you may be better off using an FTP client application. FTP clients generally are made specifically for transferring files to and from FTP sites, and include features that often make them easier to use. Some of the free clients you can download include FileZilla, WinSCP and CyberDuck.
Command Line FTP
Although this method is seldom used, it's worth mentioning the command line. Back in the dark ages of the Internet, users connected with FTP sites by typing commands on a command line. You can still connect to FTP sites using the command line in Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, but it helps if you know your way around a Unix/Linux environment. Also, you may need to modify your computer's firewall or anti-virus software settings to enable proper communication with the FTP site when you use the command line.

How to Write a Java Application Program That Prompts a User to Input One After the OtherIn Feburary 2016 24,

In Feburary 2016 24,
Start a new project in NetBeans by clicking on its icon, selecting 'File/New Project', and choosing 'Java Applicatoin.' A new Java project is created and a source code file appears in the NetBeans text editor. The source code file has a main function and little else.
Import the 'Console' class by writing this line at the top of the source code file:import java.io.Console;
Create a new Console object by writing the following line of code between the curly brackets of the main function:Console c = System.console();
Declare a couple of strings, one for a user's name, and one for the user's password. You can accomplish this by writing the following:String userName, password;
Prompt the user to enter his or her user name using the following line of code:userName = c.readLine('Enter your user name and press enter: ');
Repeat the last step for the user's password, like this:password = c.readLine('Enter your password and press enter: ');
Run the program by pressing F6. The program will prompt you to enter a name. After you enter your name, it will ask you for a password. You can add more prompts if you would like. All you have to do is repeat the previous step and add more strings to hold the data.

How to Select Variable Data Printing (VDP) SoftwareIn Feburary 2016 24,

In Feburary 2016 24,
Survey all corporate stakeholders to determine the types of print jobs that will use variable data software. Some possible uses for variable printing are books, postcards,manuals, invoices, statements, brochures and mailings.
Identify and rank the different end uses of variable printing into broad categories and then rank those categories by anticipated impact on company profitability.
All companies start the selection process wanting their software to do 'everything', but the reality of all software is that strengths and weaknesses vary among products. Knowing if the main use of the product will be transaction-oriented or marketing-oriented helps to focus the evaluation process.
For marketing oriented applications,focus on how well each product handles variable images and design features. For transactional applications, rendering and processing time become more critical due to the large amount of data involved in these applications.The digital products will differ in their abilities according to what their original target market.
Develop a test using your data files and documents. Your digital printing software vendors should be able to take that information and provide anticipated processing time for their software. During these tests you'll get a good feel for speed and reliability. Your programmers will also be providing input about which product will be easiest for them to work with. Remember, your most important internal audience will be your programmers.
Ask for a list of customers of references in your field or a closely related field who will talk about their experience with the vendor's software product. What kind of printing projects have they undertaken? How reliable was their product? Speed and reliability are the two critical success factors for variable print.
The final part of this process is to agree on vendor response time when the software develops a bug. Focus on the definitions of 'critical' and 'non-critical' problems and the service response times.
Create a scorecard to track strengths and weaknesses of each product. If you've done your research well, you should have a clear winner in your variable data printing software search.

How to Do Bubble Sorting in VB.netIn Feburary 2016 18,

In Feburary 2016 18,
Open Visual Basic and click 'File' and 'New project' to create a new project. Select 'ConsoleApplication.' When it comes time to enter your code in a real project with a Graphical User Interface (GUI), you can simply copy this function there without modification.
Paste the following code above the 'Main' function:
Sub BubbleSort(ByRef arr() As Integer)Dim tempDim switch = TrueWhile switchswitch = FalseFor x = 0 To arr.Length - 2If arr(x) > arr(x+1) Thentemp = arr(x)arr(x) = arr(x+1)arr(x+1) = tempswitch = TrueEnd IfNextEnd WhileEnd Sub
An important thing to recognize is that the arr is passed into the subroutine 'ByRef.' This allows the function to modify the contents of the array.
Paste the following into the 'Main' function to test the BubbleSort method:
Sub Main()Dim arr = {3, 4, 5232, 1, 232, 12, 34, 14, 21, 213, 213, 21, 321}Console.WriteLine('Unsorted')For Each x In arrConsole.Write(x & ' ')NextConsole.WriteLine()BubbleSort(arr)Console.WriteLine('Sorted')For Each x In arrConsole.Write(x & ' ')NextConsole.ReadKey()End Sub
End ModuleThis generates a simple, unsorted array of integers and tells BubbleSort to sort them, then prints the results.

Launch Filezilla and under the 'host' box at the top of the screen type in the URL for the FTP. For example 'testsite.com.' Note that you do not need to enter in the 'ftp://' information. Click on the 'quickconnect' button. If a username and password is required, enter them in the provided boxes and then hit 'quickconnect.'
