PHP Mkdir Permission Does Not WorkIn Feburary 2016 25,

In Feburary 2016 25,
The list of permissions you supply to the 'mkdir' function are valid only on Linux-based file systems. This means you cannot associate permissions with a directory you create under Windows. If you pass permissions with the 'mkdir' function under Windows, PHP simply ignores them.
Default User Account
Remember that a script run on a Web server from a browser runs under the default user account on the Web server such as 'www-data,' not under your user account. If directory permissions are not working, it may be because you are testing a script under your account instead of the default user account. You can test the script as the default user by typing 'su www-data' and exploring the directory permissions assigned to that user.
Directory Mask
If the resulting permissions of a new directory are different from what you passed, it may be because of a directory mask applied to the permissions. The mask is maintained by the Web server, not by PHP. To circumvent the mask, use the 'umask' function to set the mask to zero, create the directory using 'mkdir' and change the directory permissions using the 'chmod' function. For example:
$save = umask(0);
if (mkdir($newdir)) chmod($newdir, 0755);
umask($save);
?>
Recursive Assignment
The 'mkdir' function takes a second optional argument that creates nested directories recursively. When you assign directory permissions recursively, the permissions may not be executed in the proper order and you might get different results from what you expected. To ensure the proper order, use the 'chmod' function to assign directory permissions to the new directory after you create it with the 'mkdir' function. For example:
if (mkdir($newdir, 0755, true)) chmod($newdir, 0755);
?>

How to Use Imagemagick With HostgatorIn Feburary 2016 25,

In Feburary 2016 25,
Open the image you want to edit in the ImageMagick software.
Use the ImageMagick tools to edit the image.
Save your image to your computer once you have completed the changes. Be sure to save it in a folder where you can easily find it.
Launch a FTP program on the computer.
Type in your HostGator website domain name, administrator username and password to connect to the HostGator server. You should have received this information in an email when you signed up for the HostGator account.
Navigate to the folder on the computer that contains the edited image in the local pane. This will usually be the left side of the window, though it may vary depending on the FTP program.
Navigate to the 'public_ftp' folder of the HostGator account. If you wish to store the image, you may want to create a new folder on the server called 'pictures' or 'images.'
Highlight the image file in the local pane and click the transfer button. This will send a copy of the image to the HostGator server.
Open a website browser and type in the image's URL. The URL will be your domain name followed by the name of the folder you uploaded the image to and the image's full name, for example: 'http://(yourdomain)/(foldername)/(imagename).'
Record this URL address. You can use this to share the image, post it on forums or use it on your website.

How to Edit a Live PHP Site via FTPIn Feburary 2016 25,

In Feburary 2016 25,
Open File Explorer or Internet Explorer: both programs access the built-in FTP client.
Type the site's host server FTP url into the address bar and press 'Enter.' The FTP address starts with 'FTP://' instead of 'HTTP://" like a website. ExampleSite.com might have its FTP server located at a URL like 'FTP://adminFTP.ExampleSite.com.'
Enter your client account user name and password then press 'OK' to log in to the FTP.
Locate the PHP files you want to update in the FTP browser window. The FTP browser window displays the files on the FTP server like File Explorer displays local files on your computer or home network.
Copy the PHP files you want to update to your computer by highlighting them in the browser window, pressing 'Ctrl+C,' opening a local folder Window in File Explorer and pressing 'Ctrl+V.' You can edit the copy of the file stored on your computer, but you can't edit the one stored on the FTP site.
Open the PHP files you want to edit with Notepad or a code editing program, make the changes you want to make in the code and save the updated file.
Highlight the updated versions of the files you want to update on the PHP site in the File Explorer window and press 'Ctrl+C' to copy them.
Open the FTP window, locate the folder hosting the files you want to update and press 'Ctrl+V' to upload the files to the FTP. If Windows asks, choose the option that overwrites and replaces the files. The new versions of the files will immediately display on the site when refreshing the page.

How do I Set an Anchor in Sitecore?In Feburary 2016 19,

In Feburary 2016 19,
Open Internet Explorer (the recommended browser for Sitecore). In the text box for your Web address, enter in the URL that was given to you by your Web hosting company for Sitecore. Enter the username and password you used to set up your Sitecore account.
Click the '+' button next to the page you would like to edit from the side of your screen. This shows you the various content boxes that are on this page. Click the section into which you want to insert your anchor.
Click the small blue arrow icon next to 'Text' to open the HTML editor. This brings you to a new page in your Web browser and can be used to insert HTML code into your content.
Click the part of the document where you want to insert the anchor. When you link to your anchor, the portion you selected appears at the top of your user's screen. An anchor is not clickable, but serves as a marker to be linked to.
Click on the 'Anchor' icon from the second row of tools in your HTML editor. This is a small, yellow icon in a grey box that looks like an anchor. A text box opens where you can name your anchor. Enter the name you want and click 'Insert.' To remove this anchor, click the icon to the right of the 'Anchor' button, which is a small, red icon that looks like an anchor.
Link to your anchor by defining its name in your hyperlink. For instance, if your Web page is http://www.mysite.com/page and the name of your anchor is part2, you insert the hyperlink http://www.mysite.com/page#part2 anywhere on your site to redirect to this section of your page.

How to Rename My DomainIn Feburary 2016 19,

In Feburary 2016 19,
Buy a new domain name from an online seller such as GoDaddy.com, Domain.com or CheckDomain.com. You usually hold the name for one or two years. Selecting 'auto renewal' means the company will automatically charge you at the end of that period, so you can keep the domain name for another year or two years. As of 2010, it usually costs $10 to $20 per year.
Log into the control panel of your hosting account. You already have this if you have been running a website under another domain name. Otherwise, buy hosting (space on the web to hold your website)from a site such as HostGator.com, GoDaddy.com or ASmallOrange.com.
Go to the 'Domains' section of your hosting account. If the service allows you to change the domain name manually, the relevant heading will be something like 'Primary Domain' or 'Change Primary Domain.' Click to enter the section, type in your new domain name and click 'OK' or the equivalent to confirm.
Log into the program you use to design, edit and publish your website. Publish the website, entering the new domain name or ftp address (available from your hosting provider) and password when prompted.
Alternatives
Email or phone your hosting provider directly to request a change to your primary domain name. Some providers do not allow you to change the domain name manually. Tell them your new domain name and republish the website when the provider confirms the change.
Log into the control panel of your hosting account, go to 'Domains' or the equivalent section, select 'Forward Domain' and enter your new domain name. You do not have to republish. Typing the new domain name into the address bar takes users directly to the site under the previous domain name.
Select 'Mask domain' when adding the forward domain if you do not want users to be able to see the old domain name. It will still direct users to the previous site, but only the new domain name will be visible in the address bar.

How to Do a Trading StatementIn Feburary 2016 17,

In Feburary 2016 17,
Include the title 'Trading Statement' at the top of the form. Underneath the title, the statement should include the time period that is being covered with the words, 'For the year ended 20XX.'
Gather the information needed for preparing this document. This includes all information regarding trades made using the trading account. Income amounts are needed, as well as all expenses from this period.
Calculate the gross profit. The total amount of money received is recorded first on the trading statement. Gross profit is found by adding up all money received. This amount is then reduced by deducting the cost of goods sold. To find this amount, you must start with the opening stock value at the beginning of the period. All purchases are added to that, and the closing value of the stock is deducted. This amount represents the cost of purchasing the stocks. These amounts are all written in the trading statement.
List all expenses incurred. Expenses include all items that money was spent on during this period. The expenses must be incurred in regard to the purchasing and selling of stocks in this trading account. After each expense is listed individually, the expenses are totaled and listed as 'total expenses.'
Subtract the expenses from the gross profit. This answer represents the net profit or net loss by the purchases and sales of stocks in the trading account for the period referenced. This is the bottom line on the trading statement.
