How Kids Can Make Their Own WebsiteIn Feburary 2016 30,

In Feburary 2016 30,
Research various Web site hosting and design companies to fit your needs. Various sites offer free hosting and design services, while others may charge a nominal fee. A website hosting company will maintain the site on a daily basis to make sure that all links and content operate smoothly. In addition, they will be a resource for the Web site owner to go to if there are any difficulties.
Register your domain name with the hosting and design site you choose. Be sure to have a few names as ideas, as the original one you want may already be taken. A domain name is the actual web address of your site. An example of a domain name/web address would be www.mywebsitename.com.
Follow the steps of your hosting and design site to develop your own Web site. You will have a choice of various themes, colors and platforms for your site.
Upload various photos, artwork and guestbook information for your users to be able to see on your page. Many sites will have various downloads users can add to their sites for free. These downloads will enable options such as a 'visitors counter,' which will count how many people visit your site, a guestbook for users to sign, and blog or feedback section to allow users to leave comments about your site. Your hosting site will provide you the tools to add these features to your site directly, usually by a simple click of a button or by selecting certain features during the design phase of the site.
Notify your hosting and design company when your page has been finished being designed and is ready to 'go live.' This will activate your page on the Internet and allow users to access it.

How to Upload HighIn Feburary 2016 27,

In Feburary 2016 27,
Visit Craigslist and select the appropriate section for your ad. In the top right corner of your browser, click 'post.'
Enter the relevant information into the fields for post title, description, etc. Click Add/Edit Images---if this option is not available, follow the alternative method in Section 2.
Click the 'Choose File...' button and locate the image on your hard drive. Craigslist allows you to directly upload four images with one post. The website will automatically decrease the size of larger images to a maximum of 300 by 300 pixels, so it is unnecessary to upload especially large images. If you want to preserve the resolution of an image without uploading large images, use the PNG file format (available as a savable format in most image editing software applications). The Craigslist interface will always reduce the size, however, so use the alternative instructions in Section 2 if your image needs to be larger.
Click 'Continue' to see a preview of your uploaded image. If the image still looks unsuitable, click 'Edit' to try a different image or follow the alternative method in Section 2.
Off-Site Images
Visit a free image-hosting website (such as Imgur, Photobucket or Tinypic). Follow the website's instructions to upload your high-quality photo. Copy the URL listed in the Direct Link field.
Visit Craigslist in a separate browser tab or window. Select the appropriate section for your ad. In the top-right corner of your browser, click 'post.'
Enter the relevant information into the fields for post title, description, etc.
Skip a line beneath the end of your description. Enter the HTML code for images into the field and paste your image URL into the source. If you do not know the HTML image code offhand, enter the following code into the description field and paste your image URL into the indicated field (between the quotation marks):
Click 'Continue' to see a preview of your post. If the image is too large or small, return to the image hosting website and use the available resizing tools to reduce the image size. Sizes around 500 by 500 pixels should be suitable for presenting a high-quality image without overwhelming your potential client or customer.

Progress Bar TutorialIn Feburary 2016 26,

In Feburary 2016 26,
As an operation proceeds, the code continuously reads how much is completed and calculates the status. If the Minimum value is set to one and the Maximum to 100, the bar will fill half the bar display when 50 percent of the operation is completed. To perform this calculation, the programmer must know how long the operation will take. As an example, if the user is downloading a five MB file, by the time 2.5 MB have downloaded, the bar will have moved halfway across.
Create a Progress Bar
Start by creating a new project after opening Visual Basic. Click on 'File,' 'New Project' and select the 'Standard EXE' format. Add the ProgressBar control by clicking on 'Project,' 'Components.' Find the Microsoft Windows Common Controls in the list. Choose the Microsoft Visual Basic Common Controls (SP6) by placing a checkmark in the box next to the control. Click on 'Apply' and 'OK.' You should see the control in the list in the left panel. Double click on this to add it to the form.
Set the Properties
If working with an operation where the percentage of completion is easy to calculate like a file download, set the Minimum property in the Properties panel to '1' and the maximum to '100.' Another way to set the maximum is to have the code count the number of iterations of some operation, compare this to the total number, and calculate where the bar should be. Height and Left properties control the height of the bar itself and where it appears from the left of the screen. Only two other properties matter: Whether the bar runs across the screen vertically or horizontally and whether incremental chunks appear or the bar is smoother. Choose these from the 'Orientation' and 'Scrolling Properties.' If the maximum cannot be predetermined, it is possible to use an Animation control to keep the bar moving until the operation completes. This enhancement goes beyond the level of this tutorial. Since the bar should not appear until an operation commences, set the Visible property to 'False.' For this example, set the Maximum property to '10000' and leave the Minimum at '0.' Finally, add a Command Button control from the Tools list to the form to initiate action. Change the (Name) property to 'btnStart' and the Caption to 'Start.'
Write the Code
Click on 'View,' 'Code' to open the programming window. Type the lines below exactly as shown. The first three lines load the form and make the Progress Bar visible. The rest of the code runs through a repetitive sequence to demonstrate the bar. The end number in this code is set very high to slow the Progress Bar down for visibility. Replace the steps in the second section beginning with 'Private Sub btnStart_Click() and ending 'End Sub' with whatever event you are timing to get a new ProgressBar1.Value. Always add a command to change the visibility of the bar to 'False' when the routine finishes.Private Sub Form_Load()
ProgressBar1.Visible = True
End SubPrivate Sub btnStart_Click()
Dim n As Integer
For n = 1 To 10000
ProgressBar1.Value = n
Next n
End SubTest the code by pressing the 'F5' key.
Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition Version
In the Visual Basic 2008, substitute the following lines for the lines beginning Private Sub:Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal eventSender As System.Object, ByVal eventArgs As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
Private Sub btnStart_Click(ByVal eventSender As System.Object, ByVal eventArgs As System.EventArgs) Handles btnStart.Click

How to Build a ResumeIn Feburary 2016 24,

In Feburary 2016 24,
If you are computer savvy, you can write a program on your own in which you can load documents and run searches on them. But if you have a limited amount of time or limited computer skills, consider using programs from companies such as Sendouts or Recruiting Wizard. Regardless of which method you choose, you must upload the resumes you have received to the program (simply use the 'attach' button as you would with a regular document in an e-mail).
Consider the requirement for each open position. If you're looking for someone with a certain type of experience, run a search through the resumes for words related to that experience. This will help you narrow down the field.
Build your system so that you will be able to search for several features at once. This can include the amount of experience a person has and the type of positions he has held in the past, as well as values or career goals indicated in the resume.
Run frequent searches through your resume-tracking software as you add more resumes. This software is designed to save you from having to read through every submission.

I Could Not Connect to the Server in FileZilla 1and1In Feburary 2016 24,

In Feburary 2016 24,
Users often confuse hosting accounts with FTP accounts. You enter the username and password for your hosting account to access the website control panel on 1and1. This username and password is not even relevant to FileZilla. Instead, you need to retrieve the details for your FTP account to use FileZilla. You get an FTP username and password in the welcome email when you join. If you no longer have access to this email, get your FTP username from inside the panel and set up a new password.
Account Management
Access your admin control panel by logging into your hosting account. If you have more than one domain, choose which one you want to administer. Select 'FTP Accounts' in the 'Webspace' menu to see your username -- this is the username that you enter into FileZilla to upload files to your website. However, because the password is hidden even in your own account for security reasons, you need to create a new password if you do not know it. Click 'Edit' to see the option to create a new password. Write this and the username down on a piece of paper to make sure you are using the correct account details in FileZilla. You can also click 'New User' to set up additional usernames and passwords for FTP purposes.
Establishing a Connection
Now that you are sure you have the correct username and password for your FTP account, you need to enter the correct information in FileZilla. Open the software, then click the 'Site Manager' icon, which has an image of two computers, near the top. In the window that pops up, select 'New Site' and enter any name for this site, then enter your website address; however, do not enter the 'http' and 'www' portions of the address -- for example, enter 'MySite.com,' not 'www.MySite.com.' Leave the port as '21' and the server type as 'FTP,' but change the 'Logontype' option to 'Normal.' Enter the FTP username and password that you've retrieved from the 'FTP Accounts' section in your 1and1 hosting account. Click 'Save and Exit.' To establish a connection, click the 'Site Manager' icon again, select your website and click 'Connect.'
Other Troubleshooting
If you are still experiencing connection problems, you may have an issue with the FileZilla FTP utility. Because this is free software, download another copy from FileZilla's website. If you still cannot connect with a new copy, 1and1 may be having a server issue; call 866-991-2631 to check the server's status. Another option is to try another free FTP client to isolate whether the problem is FileZilla or 1and1. Examples include Core FTP and Go FTP.

How to Edit a Website Using Microsoft WordIn Feburary 2016 17,

In Feburary 2016 17,
Download or find the HTML page for each web page of a website you want to edit. You can edit a website one page at a time with Word but you must first have access to the page. If it is on your local computer then you are set. If the page is on a server, you must either FTP the HTML document and its images to your local computer or you can save the page from a web browser. When saving an HTML web page from a browser, just make sure you choose to save it as a web page and not a web archive.
Open Microsoft Word. Go to the File menu and choose Open. Select the HTML file for the web page that you want to edit.
Edit what you see. The way that Word opens the HTML document, it will be similar to what you see in a live web page, except some of the pictures may be missing. You can type directly on the page to change elements such as the text. You can also use the tool bar to do some basic editing, such as bolding items or changing the font size.
Edit links by right clicking on the link and choosing “hyperlink” and then “edit hyperlink.” You can also use the “Insert” menu to add or edit pictures and objects. If you want to change an existing picture, just click on that picture before selecting the “insert” menu.
Click on View and then “HTML source” to see the web page in HTML code. This will let you edit the web page in a much more powerful way, if you know and understand HTML.
Go to the “File” menu and choose “Save as” and then type a name and select “web page” as the file type. It will save the file at whatever location you choose and will also create a folder for any files that go with the page. You can now upload the page and the folder to your web host.

How to Configure Email in Internet Explorer 8In Feburary 2016 12,

In Feburary 2016 12,
In the Tools menu, select “Internet Options.” This will open a dialog box with tabs that allow you to change features on your web browser.
Click on the “Programs” tab in the dialog box. You will see three panels: “Internet programs,” “Default web browser” and “Manage add-ons.”
Go to the “Internet Programs” block. In that block, look for the “E-mail” label (it is the second item). There is a drop-down next to this label that allows you to choose which program to use as your default email client when operating with Internet Explorer 8. There are three options: Microsoft Office Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail.Microsoft Office Outlook is used mostly for business users but is not restricted to business purposes. Some people who have the Microsoft Office Suite use it to configure emails from other online email offerings such as Yahoo! Mail or Gmail. Microsoft Office Outlook is restricted to the computer you install it on; therefore, this option is best for at-home use or for your personal laptop.Outlook Express is very different from Outlook. They both handle email, address books and the like, but Outlook Express also handles Internet news. Outlook Express doesn’t interact with other programs such as Word, Excel, etc., therefore it is mostly a stand-alone program. Outlook has a powerful junk-mail program as well as incoming and outgoing filtering capabilities; Outlook Express can only handle incoming filtering. The biggest difference is that Outlook Express is only meant for single computers whereas Outlook email can be stored on a server and accessed from more places.Windows Live Mail is an online option for email which is great if you have a Windows Live account. The advantage to this is that you can check email from anywhere at anytime.
Click the “OK” button at the bottom of the dialog box to close the dialog box.
