Visit the XL2QIF website (see Resources) and download the XL2QIF Excel Add-In Version 1.1. Unzip the files using an unzipping program and install the program. The program acts as an add-in to Microsoft Excel and it will create a new menu item labeled 'XL2QIF.' Open Microsoft Excel and click on the menu. Scroll down to 'Save to QIF' to save your current file as a QIF file. Select an output folder and an output file name and click 'Convert.'
Open Microsoft Excel. Click 'File' and 'Save As.' Choose CSV (Comma-Separated Values) as the file type and click 'Save.'
Visit the CSV to QIF Free Online Converter page (see Reources). Click on the 'Choose...' button under CSV Import to choose your recently converted CSV file. Click on the button marked 'Save as QIF.' Choose a name for your QIF file and click 'Ok.' A download box will open up and you can click 'Save' to download the QIF file.
Repeat step 2 to change your XLS document into a CSV file. Visit the LC Bell site (see Resources) and download the QIF to CSV converter. Use the unzipping program to unzip the file and double-click on 'QIF-CSV Converter' to install the program. Once installed open the CSV file by clicking 'File' and then 'Open.' Click 'File' and then 'Save As.' Click on the drop-down menu and change the file type to 'QIF' and click 'Save.' Your file will then be converted to a QIF document.

How to Configure Email in Internet Explorer 8In Feburary 2016 12,
In Feburary 2016 12,
In the Tools menu, select “Internet Options.” This will open a dialog box with tabs that allow you to change features on your web browser.
Click on the “Programs” tab in the dialog box. You will see three panels: “Internet programs,” “Default web browser” and “Manage add-ons.”
Go to the “Internet Programs” block. In that block, look for the “E-mail” label (it is the second item). There is a drop-down next to this label that allows you to choose which program to use as your default email client when operating with Internet Explorer 8. There are three options: Microsoft Office Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail.Microsoft Office Outlook is used mostly for business users but is not restricted to business purposes. Some people who have the Microsoft Office Suite use it to configure emails from other online email offerings such as Yahoo! Mail or Gmail. Microsoft Office Outlook is restricted to the computer you install it on; therefore, this option is best for at-home use or for your personal laptop.Outlook Express is very different from Outlook. They both handle email, address books and the like, but Outlook Express also handles Internet news. Outlook Express doesn’t interact with other programs such as Word, Excel, etc., therefore it is mostly a stand-alone program. Outlook has a powerful junk-mail program as well as incoming and outgoing filtering capabilities; Outlook Express can only handle incoming filtering. The biggest difference is that Outlook Express is only meant for single computers whereas Outlook email can be stored on a server and accessed from more places.Windows Live Mail is an online option for email which is great if you have a Windows Live account. The advantage to this is that you can check email from anywhere at anytime.
Click the “OK” button at the bottom of the dialog box to close the dialog box.

How to Correct Proxy SettingsIn Feburary 2016 07,
In Feburary 2016 07,
Look through the menu bar (all Windows-based applications have one) of the application you want to correct. Choose the 'Tools' drop-down menu. In this menu, find the 'Options' configuration screen for the application you want to update. In Google Chrome, this menu is accessed by clicking on the wrench symbol at the end of the address bar. Towards the bottom of the 'Tools' menu will be a 'Settings,' 'Internet Options' or 'Options' item. Select this to open a settings window.
Search for the 'Proxy Settings' option. In some applications this is immediately visible, in others it is necessary to select either an 'Internet' or 'Connections.' In these applications, a 'LAN Settings' button will lead to a window where proxy data is accessed. Press this button to open the 'LAN Settings' window.
Find the proxy data you want to change in the LAN Settings screen. Some applications show a series of entries for proxy settings, with an option to use the same proxy for all options. The options are 'HTTP,' 'HTTPS' (or 'Secure' or 'SSL'), 'FTP,' 'Gopher' or 'SOCKS.'
Update the proxy you wish to correct. If you are only using one proxy, its details will be in the 'HTTP' proxy fields. Each row in the proxy settings window required an IP address and a port number for the proxy. Lower on the screen is an option to enter exceptions. These are addresses which should be contacted directly and not forwarded through the proxy server. These can be entered as IP addresses or domain names. Each item in the list of exceptions is separated either with a semi-colon (';') or a comma (',').
Close each window by pressing the 'OK' button once the proxy settings have been corrected. In some applications, you may need to press an 'Apply' or 'Save' button before closing the window with the 'OK' button.

How to Troubleshoot Mac USB IssuesIn Feburary 2016 04,
In Feburary 2016 04,
Check that the USB device is connected to the appropriate jack. There is a USB jack in the back of most keyboards, but it often only works with a mouse.
Unplug any USB devices and wait a few moments before reconnecting them. You can often fix problems with your USB keyboard and mouse by using this method. Try restarting your computer if the malfunction persists after you reconnect the USB device.
Test your USB peripherals in another computer. If the problem exists in the second computer, you may need to have the device serviced or look for an updated version of the firmware that supports your USB item. Check the manufacturer's website for these updates.
Try different devices in the same USB port. For example, if your mouse if behaving strangely, see whether an external drive or an iPod is able to connect to the computer via that USB port.
Disconnect any USB hubs that you're using and connect each device one at a time to your computer. You need to troubleshoot the devices individually to find out whether the USB hub or the one of the devices is causing the problem. Be sure to test each peripheral with a working USB cable.
Reset the parameter random access memory (PRAM) and nonvolatile RAM (NVRAM) on your computer. Turn off your computer, then restart it and immediately press and hold the 'Command,' 'Option,' 'P' and 'R' keys on the keyboard. Release the keys after you hear the startup chime for the third time and your computer should boot normally.
Consider reinstalling the operating system after clearing your computer's hard drive. Be sure to back up all of your data before you erase the disc. You may also want to bring the computer to a Mac service center and have the logic board examined.
