List of Free FTP ServersIn Feburary 2016 27,

In Feburary 2016 27,
Webfreehosting provides an all-encompassing, free package that includes email accounts, web hosting and an FTP service. Account holders get 300MB of storage space, can transfer up to 10GB of files per month, and receive an impressive collection of other options related to website hosting.
DriveHQ
DriveHQ offers online storage and FTP access with a familiar look and feel. Windows users are comfortable with the naming convention of the folders such as 'My Documents,' 'My Music' and 'My Pictures.' While DriveHQ offers a paid subscription, they do include two levels of free service. The first level is called the 'Free Account.' These users are mainly restricted to uploading and downloading files. The 'True Account' is the second level and is attained when the member's information can be verified. The main difference between the two is that 'Free Account' members cannot publish files, folders or a website (publishing shares them out to anyone on the Internet). Both account types have an upload file size limit of 50MB and the ability to transfer files by dragging them from the computer onto the DriveHQ website to transfer them. A traditional FTP access using third-party software is available, although they do recommend using their own software designed for use with their service.
WebNG
WebNG is a feature-rich, one-stop-shop for free web hosting. The features include direct FTP access as well as web-based FTP access (for when an FTP client or program is not available), 350MB of storage space, no ads, photo albums and support, and 323MB of daily bandwidth usage. When transferring files, there is a 25MB file size limit. WebNG also offers an incentive package that increases your usable bandwidth when you refer others to the website.

Can I Work on WordPress Offline?In Feburary 2016 11,

In Feburary 2016 11,
Users may want to work with WordPress offline for several reasons. One use for offline WordPress is as a test environment. An offline, local installation of WordPress offers a safe, easily restored environment to test changes to the WordPress installation, such as code implementation or layout testing.
Local Server
WordPress can run on any computer that supports PHP scripting language and MySQL databases. Windows, Mac and Linux machines can all be configured to support this environment. Once enabled, users can install the WordPress web application and then access this installation from their local machine. Local server installations work exactly like online WordPress installations, except instead of typing an Internet URL to access the WordPress installation, users enter their local hostname or http://127.0.0.1 address to point to the installation.
Desktop Blogging Clients
Desktop blogging clients allow users to draft posts offline, though most other administrative functions must still be done via an online connection to the WordPress installation. WordPress-compatible desktop blogging clients include Windows Live Writer, BlogDesk and Qumana. Features vary between desktop clients, but most include post creation, categorization and tagging. More advanced desktop clients may allow a user to manage other aspects of her blog, such as creating local backups.
Maintenance Mode
Users who want to take their WordPress site offline but still work with the backend have the option of installing a plugin that will put the WordPress site in maintenance mode. Maintenance mode will close the site to incoming user connections but allow administrators and other authorized users access to the live site. Though not truly working offline, enabling maintenance mode is a viable alternative for users who only need to take WordPress offline temporarily.

What Is 'Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation?'In Feburary 2016 09,

In Feburary 2016 09,
Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation runs under the process name 'audiodg.exe' and is a component of the Microsoft Windows Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 operating systems. The file runs the audio engine for Windows, which allows third party code from vendor audio applications to run sound in the computer system. The process is not crucial to basic computer functions.
Process Purpose
The process ensures that additional audio through a third party vendor is not lost in the Windows coding process, therefore allowing computer users to listen to audio without interruption. The audiodg.exe process also handles Digital Rights Management (DRM), which in requires that some audio samples go through a protection process to prevent illegal copying.
File Removal
While the audiodg.exe file will not harm your computer or affect running programs, some users may wish to disable the process if the file is using too much memory or consuming available computer resources. To remove the file, launch the Task Manager, click the 'Process' tab and locate the file under the name Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation. From here, you will be able to disable the program. The process will relaunch when the computer restarts or reboots, unless you also remove it from the Startup folder.
Virus Alert
The audiodg.exe application is not a virus. However, since it's an executable file, it's possible for malware, trojans or viruses to hide inside the file name and infiltrate your system. Users can avoid potentially dangerous issues by updating anti-virus programs and running scans regularly. Also note that the Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation application only runs with Windows 8, 7 and Vista. Therefore, users who see the process on an earlier version of Windows should immediately treat the file as a virus and remove it.

Types of Server SoftwareIn Feburary 2016 03,

In Feburary 2016 03,
The most familiar type of server software serves a series of files on a computer onto the web in the form of a website. It is able to do this using the HyperText Transfer Protocol, or HTTP, a method through which web browsers request data from web servers and web servers respond with the data: usually a combination of HTML files and images. Popular web servers include Apache and Microsoft IIS.
FTP Server Software
While web servers use the HTTP, FTP servers use the File Transfer Protocol, which is the most common method for rapidly transferring large files across a network. FTP server software works in conjunction with FTP client software, programs designed for users doing the transferring. Common FTP servers and clients include Filezilla and Crush FTP.
Mail Server Software
Mail servers are programs that allow you to send and receive email. Unlike web or FTP servers, mail servers often use three different common protocols: SMTP (the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), POP (the Post Office Protocol) and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol). POP and IMAP are used primarily for receiving mail, while SMTP can be used for sending or receiving. Common mail servers include Eudora and Mercury Mail.
Database Server Software
Database servers, as the title suggests, serve databases over a network. Databases provide content to the web: they can contain anything from articles to numbers to a member or product directory. Data server capability is often wrapped inside a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), a set of programs that aid in the creation and maintenance of databases. Common RDBMSes include Oracle and MySQL.
Miscellaneous Server Software
Since a server is defined as any program that connects files to a network, servers don't necessarily have to aid in creating websites. iTunes and other audio programs use music servers that stream music between computers. Online games such as World of Warcraft use dozens of servers that allow users to log on and play. Instant messenging programs (with the exception of peer-to-peer programs, which cut out the server as a middle man) use servers as well.
