How to Make a Political Blog WebsiteIn Feburary 2016 29,

In Feburary 2016 29,
Decide how you would prefer to host your political blog. If you already have web server space of your own, you may simply be able to turn on a blogging plug in on your server admin panel. Most people, however, opt to use a hosted blog from a dedicated blogging site.
Choose the blogging software you want to use. Depending upon the hosting situation you prefer, this choice may have already been made for you. WordPress and MovableType are two of the most common choices if you are hosting your own blog, and are also an option if you prefer to host with them. Blogger, LiveJournal and Xanga are all options that include hosting as a part of a blog package, but cannot be used on your own web space. Take the time to compare features between the different packages. Look for easy photo uploading, convenient access and remote blog posting abilities.
Set up your blog. Proprietary blog services, including Blogger and TypePad, make this very easy. It takes only a few minutes to establish an account and set up your web address. If you are hosting your own blog, you will find that software installation is generally quite simple, particularly if your host offers one click blog software access.
Choose a template from the choices available with your blog software. You can also design your own blog template, depending upon the options available with your software and host. Paid blog services or hosting your own will allow you the most design freedom for your political blog.
Fill out personal profile or about me information. Keep personal confidentiality in mind, particularly if your political blog could put you at risk at work or elsewhere. If you are not using your real name, choose a pseudonym that fits with your political blogging.
Begin blogging. An interesting blog requires more than just writing. Include images, photos and interesting links to keep your political blog entertaining and informative to your readers. You may wish to consider advertising programs to bring in additional income from your new blog.

How Does a 404 Error Occur?In Feburary 2016 12,

In Feburary 2016 12,
A '404 Error' appears when a person trying to get to a website or URL but the site is unavailable or unreachable. This error may also manifest in different appearances on the web page, depending on the way the website administrator programs the error to appear to the users. Aside from 'Page cannot be displayed,' it can also appear as 'Page cannot be displayed,' '404-Page not Found,' 'Error 404: Not Found,' 'The page cannot be found' or 'HTTP 404- Not Found.' Aside from the error messages, the error page may have additional information indicating the possible cause and resolution.
Causes
There are different reasons why a website becomes unreachable or unavailable, possibly due to a problem on the web server hosting the website or a possible problem with the link or URL. Another possibility would be a network connection issue between the web server and the user's computer. It is also possible that certain components within the web server that is hosting the site is having issues, such as services and web instances not running that the website is depending on to run normally.
Troubleshooting
The common resolution suggested by technical support or programmers would be to do the simplest thing, often suggested on the error page itself, which is to refresh the screen by hitting the refresh button on the web browser menu bar. This will allow the web browser to try to reconnect to the website that is having issues. Oftentimes, companies that host websites have redundant servers in place to provide minimal disruptions, after hitting refresh the other server or servers in the pool will process the request in order to display the website. Another way to solve the 404 Error code is to make sure that the website spelling is correct. The cause may be a typing error by misspelling or missing letters or symbols. By typing the correct URL or link to the website, the error code will disappear and will lead to the correct web page. Sometimes, if the error does not go away, it is best to wait patiently until the problem disappears. This is often the case when a web site may be experiencing technical difficulties and a user has no control over the situation. Most reputable webhosting companies already know the problem before the users do; therefore, they may already be hard at work to resolve the problem. If the wait is taking much longer as anticipated, it is best to call the webmaster or webhosting services to report the problem or find out the status of the problem. Technicians supporting the websites may need to restart services, recycle web instances or reboot the web server to resolve the problem. If the website is corrupt or it needs the programmer to rebuild it again may take several hours to resolve. If the web server is broken, support technicians may need to repair or replace the broken parts or replace the entire server with another one. It is best practice for webhosting companies operate with redundant pairs in order to minimize disruption of service or to provide uninterrupted service. If the problem is due to network connectivity, support technicians will have to fix the network connections first before the website can come back up.

Types of Server SoftwareIn Feburary 2016 03,

In Feburary 2016 03,
The most familiar type of server software serves a series of files on a computer onto the web in the form of a website. It is able to do this using the HyperText Transfer Protocol, or HTTP, a method through which web browsers request data from web servers and web servers respond with the data: usually a combination of HTML files and images. Popular web servers include Apache and Microsoft IIS.
FTP Server Software
While web servers use the HTTP, FTP servers use the File Transfer Protocol, which is the most common method for rapidly transferring large files across a network. FTP server software works in conjunction with FTP client software, programs designed for users doing the transferring. Common FTP servers and clients include Filezilla and Crush FTP.
Mail Server Software
Mail servers are programs that allow you to send and receive email. Unlike web or FTP servers, mail servers often use three different common protocols: SMTP (the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), POP (the Post Office Protocol) and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol). POP and IMAP are used primarily for receiving mail, while SMTP can be used for sending or receiving. Common mail servers include Eudora and Mercury Mail.
Database Server Software
Database servers, as the title suggests, serve databases over a network. Databases provide content to the web: they can contain anything from articles to numbers to a member or product directory. Data server capability is often wrapped inside a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), a set of programs that aid in the creation and maintenance of databases. Common RDBMSes include Oracle and MySQL.
Miscellaneous Server Software
Since a server is defined as any program that connects files to a network, servers don't necessarily have to aid in creating websites. iTunes and other audio programs use music servers that stream music between computers. Online games such as World of Warcraft use dozens of servers that allow users to log on and play. Instant messenging programs (with the exception of peer-to-peer programs, which cut out the server as a middle man) use servers as well.

How to Calculate Download TimeIn Feburary 2016 01,

In Feburary 2016 01,
Reference the size of the file. If you are downloading from a website, or an FTP site, the download size might be listed next to the download link. On a peer-to-peer transfer program, the size is usually listed in one of the columns.
Determine your connection speed. This information should have been provided when you signed up for your Internet service. If not, call you Internet service provider and ask them your connection speed. Common connection speeds are 56 Kb for dial up or 3.0 to 10.0 Mbps for high-speed access. You can also test your speed using online speed tools, such as Speedtest.net, Speakeasy.net and CNET.com.If you know the website or P2P connection speed, and it is slower than yours, then use that speed for the calculation. When downloading, you can only download as fast as the slowest connection.Alternatively, begin downloading the file and look at the progress window. Typically, the actual download speed is displayed. Using this figure saves you to trouble of determining your or the website's connection speed.
Convert the connection speed into the same units as displayed for the download. As an example, If the download was 200 MB, then you will want to convert your connection speed to MB. As an example, you might have a 3.0 Mbps connection. Note the difference between the capitalized and lower case 'B,' which signifies 'bytes' or 'bits' respectively. Since there are 8 bits in a byte, you would divide 3.0 Mb by 8 to convert the connection speed to 0.375 MB per second.
Divide the download size by the connection speed to calculate download time. In the example, 200 MB divided by 0.375 MB per second gives you a download speed of 533 seconds, or 8 minutes and 53 seconds.
