How to Make a Political Blog WebsiteIn Feburary 2016 29,

In Feburary 2016 29,
Decide how you would prefer to host your political blog. If you already have web server space of your own, you may simply be able to turn on a blogging plug in on your server admin panel. Most people, however, opt to use a hosted blog from a dedicated blogging site.
Choose the blogging software you want to use. Depending upon the hosting situation you prefer, this choice may have already been made for you. WordPress and MovableType are two of the most common choices if you are hosting your own blog, and are also an option if you prefer to host with them. Blogger, LiveJournal and Xanga are all options that include hosting as a part of a blog package, but cannot be used on your own web space. Take the time to compare features between the different packages. Look for easy photo uploading, convenient access and remote blog posting abilities.
Set up your blog. Proprietary blog services, including Blogger and TypePad, make this very easy. It takes only a few minutes to establish an account and set up your web address. If you are hosting your own blog, you will find that software installation is generally quite simple, particularly if your host offers one click blog software access.
Choose a template from the choices available with your blog software. You can also design your own blog template, depending upon the options available with your software and host. Paid blog services or hosting your own will allow you the most design freedom for your political blog.
Fill out personal profile or about me information. Keep personal confidentiality in mind, particularly if your political blog could put you at risk at work or elsewhere. If you are not using your real name, choose a pseudonym that fits with your political blogging.
Begin blogging. An interesting blog requires more than just writing. Include images, photos and interesting links to keep your political blog entertaining and informative to your readers. You may wish to consider advertising programs to bring in additional income from your new blog.

How to Set up a Free Classified SiteIn Feburary 2016 22,

In Feburary 2016 22,
Come up with a plan for your classified website. Figure out what type of classified ad site you want to set up. Go online and do your research of various online classified scripts before you make your purchase. Look in Resources for recommendations.
Register your domain name (see Resources). The domain name registrar will give you access to your domain's control panel.
Purchase a hosting package. Make sure your Web hosting package meets all the requirements of your script for it to install and work properly. If you are not sure, contact tech support. Setting up the hosting will give you access to your FTP server and your DNS server entries.
Purchase a classified script. Download and unpack the script on your computer, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Log into your domain's control panel and change its DNS settings to point to your Web host's server.
Log into your Web host's CPanel and look for the MySQL icon. Open it to create a database for your classified script. If you are not sure about how to do this, contact the script's tech support team for help.
Download an FTP program. An FTP program transfers files between your computer and your Web host.
Log into your Web host's server using your FTP program and its authentication settings. Now upload the script files to your Web host's server.
Open your Web browser, type your Web address in the Search box and click 'Search.' You should see your new classified website.

Open Source Email Marketing ToolsIn Feburary 2016 21,

In Feburary 2016 21,
Dada Mail takes its name from the Dada art movement of the early 20th century, in which artists expressed themselves with no boundaries, conventions or rules. Dada Mail expresses this idea by providing users a wide range of capabilities in formatting and organizing their email newsletters. Dada Mail uses the open source scripting language Perl, which allows Perl programmers to add features to meet the company's needs. Businesses that do not have Perl experts on staff can still use the web-based interface to add, edit or delete features from the program.
Mailman
Mailman is a free software package used for handling email lists. Mailman uses a web-based interface, which makes it easier for users to control access to their accounts and for list owners to accomplish their tasks. Mailman includes features such as message archiving, content filtering, and automatic processing of 'bounce-back' messages that come from bad email addresses. The package also includes filters to block out unsolicited email advertisements, also known as spam. The software is written in the Python web scripting language, but includes some security modules in the C programming language.
OpenEMM
OpenEMM, which stands for Open E-Marketing Manager, is the first open source software platform designed specifically for email marketing. The first version was released in 1999 and has been used by high-profile companies such as IBM, Siemens and Deutsche Telekomm. OpenEMM inclues an intuitive user interface, advanced bad email address bounce-back management, a realtime statistics module and the ability to connect to a web-based content management system, such as WordPress and Drupal. (see reference 4)
PHPList
PHPList uses the popular and powerful PHP scripting language for its open source engine. The software is designed to connect to the free MySQL database management system for the administration of the user's mailing list data. PHPList gives list administrators the ability to tracks links and URLs embedded in the email messages and compiles statistics by message, URL and subscriber. Businesses of nearly every size can use the software, as it is scaleable to up to 100,000 subscribers.

How to Run a JSP File in TomcatIn Feburary 2016 18,

In Feburary 2016 18,
Log in to the Tomcat server. This process depends on which operating system and version of Tomcat you use. Consult Apache's documentation for further instructions.
Package the JSP files into a .war package if you need to run more than one file. You can do this with the Eclipse development environment by right-clicking the name of the project containing the file, clicking 'Export' and clicking 'WAR file.'
Create a new folder for the JSP file in the 'webapps' folder in your Tomcat server. Create a directory called 'META-INF' in this folder and upload the JSP file or the .war package here. Create a directory called 'WEB-IF' in the 'webapps' folder and upload the XML file that describes the JSP here. Add your manifest file to the 'META-INF' folder.
Upload your JSP file to the main folder you created. Open your main 'server.xml' file and add the context data for your JSP file. Restart Tomcat. Test your JSP file by entering its file path in a browser.

How to Create a Web Site With an Online Radio StationIn Feburary 2016 12,

In Feburary 2016 12,
Start out by planning your new radio station. Ask yourself questions such as, 'What will I play?' and 'What size audience do I expect?' Radio formats come in music or talk, each with its ups and downs. Talk radio requires a microphone and some idea of what you will talk about, but there are far less legal concerns associated with it than music. Do not plan for playing music to which you do not have rights, permission, or licensing to play. Some streaming services pay royalties for you, as part of your service through them, although they may not be appropriate for streaming directly from your website. As for audience size, be aware that as it grows, the stream will become more costly to run.
Sign up for a stream hosting account. For radio stations, the best bitrates are between 64kbps and 128kbps for decent quality audio streaming. To create a radio station that runs on auto-pilot, choose a stream hosting package that includes disk space for hosting your audio files. These packages cost a few dollars more per month but are worth it if you want to run a twenty-four hour a day radio station on your own.
If you do not already have Winamp on your computer, download and install it. ShoutCast, a popular tool for streaming audio on the Web, requires Winamp and a special plug-in to broadcast. Once Winamp is installed, grab the ShoutCast DSP plug-in from the ShoutCast website. Close Winamp if it is already running, and then start the installer for the plug-in. Start Winamp and hit 'Ctrl+P' to bring up the Preferences menu. Choose 'DSP/Effect' under 'Plugins' and configure the ShoutCast plug-in with your stream information.
Create Your Website
Purchase an inexpensive Web hosting account with a domain name and the third-party application installer Fantastico, which will install WordPress for you with only a few simple steps. Log-in and click on the Fantastico icon, and then choose WordPress. This blogging system is also a powerful content management system (CMS) that allows for easy plug-in installation, and that will come in useful when integrating your radio station.
Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard. To change WordPress from a blog into a CMS with a static front page, click 'Pages' on the right-hand menu and add a new page. Name the new page 'Blog' and then go to 'Settings' on the right-hand menu. From there, go to 'Reading' and set WordPress to use a static front page. Use the automatically created 'About' page for the front page and 'Blog' for the blog page. Now, your site can have a blog, but it will not be the first page visitors see when surfing to your website.
Go to 'Permalinks' under 'Settings' and choose a permalink structure other than the default. Doing this gives every page made within WordPress its own semantic name rather than numbers.
Go to 'Plugins' on the right-hand menu and click 'add plugin.' Search for 'shoutcast' and look at the list of plug-ins for streaming radio on your website. Install 'Shout Stream' and activate. Click on 'Settings' and go to 'Shout Stream' for that plug-in's settings page. Fill in the form with information about your radio stream so that the widget can connect to it. Go to 'Appearance' and then 'Widgets' to click and drag the 'Shout Stream' widget into your sidebar. Now when you visit your site, you will see a radio player in your sidebar. Click on it and play!

How to Create an Inexpensive WebsiteIn Feburary 2016 12,

In Feburary 2016 12,
Purchase a domain name to your liking. Determine what fits your needs. If it's a company website, purchase your company name. If it is a hobby, purchase a domain name that fits with that interest. Two sites to purchase domains from are GoDaddy.com and Namecheap.com.
Sign up for hosting. If cost is a consideration, go with shared hosting because it's the cheapest. Shared hosting is a package where the web host puts thousands of people on one server expecting no one to use that much in resources. It makes it cheap for you and profitable for them. Some top sites for hosting are GoDaddy.com and HostGator.com.
Connect the web hosting to the domain name by attaching the nameservers to the domain name. To do this, log into your domain name management and click on nameservers. Then change the ones that are already there with the ones your web host provided.
Search Google for different types of content management systems. Two of the most effective ones are WordPress.org and Joomla.org. Both make it very easy to put a site up on the web.
Download the files for the CMS and upload them to your site. To do this, use a FTP client such as FTP-project.org. This is one of the better ones and is very easy to use. Login using your domain name, username and password. Then drag files from your desktop to your server.
Search Google for themes pertinent to your choice of CMS. So, if you chose WordPress, look up, 'Free WordPress Themes.' You'll find thousands of themes to choose from. Choose the one you want, download it and then upload it using the FTP client you installed.
Begin creating your pages. The website is up, the site has a template and now all you need are the actual words and images to go along with the site. Any information you want your website to have can be easily added using the CMS back end.

How to Put a Java Application Into a Web PageIn Feburary 2016 12,

In Feburary 2016 12,
Use the Java Development Kit to create an applet class. An applet class is similar to a normal Java class, but it extends from a parent class called the 'java.applet.Applet' class. This will provide the applet class with additional mechanisms to communicate with Web browsers and interact with Web users. Alternatively, extend the applet from a parent class called the 'javax.swing.JApplet' class if you wish to construct the graphical user interface of the application using Swing components.
Deploy the applet class. Compile the applet class and package along with the necessary resources as a JAR file. The JAR file is a combination of the compiled class file and all its related resources into a stand-alone compressed file. Using a JAR file provides the benefits of security, efficiency, versioning and portability and is recommended by Oracle as a method of deploying Java applications on a Web page.
Create a JNLP file descriptor. JNLP stands for Java Network Launch Protocol and specifies how an applet can be run in the Web page by the Web browser.
Create the Web page to contain the applet. Add a script in the Web page to call the Deployment toolkit. This specifies which applet to run, the width and height of the applet on the Web page and the associated JNLP file. The following is an example of the script call in the Web page:
....<script src='http://www.java.com/js/deployJava.js'></script><script>var attributes = { code:'components.DynamicTreeApplet', width:300, height:300} ;var parameters = {jnlp_href: 'dynamictree-applet.jnlp'} ;deployJava.runApplet(attributes, parameters, '1.6');</script>....
Test the applet to ensure that it displays successfully in a Web page. Place the JAR, JNLP and Web page files in the same folder. Display the Web page using a Web browser that already has the appropriate Java plug-in installed. Programmers can also check the Java Console messages for debugging and error reporting purposes.
