In Feburary 2016 27,
Obtain a form script from your web host provider or from a free, online resource like Hot Scripts or Stadtaus.com (see Resources). Place this script on your host account (if needed) in the same directory where you keep your other website files and make a note of this URL location. A script processes the data submitted from the order form and delivers it back to you.
Launch your text editor program and create a new document or open an existing file. Place your cursor anywhere underneath the '
' tag where you want your order form to appear.
Type in the beginning '' tag at the end of the form code. Save your file with an '.html' ending (extension) when finished.

Confirmation Party IdeasIn Feburary 2016 21,

In Feburary 2016 21,
Like First Communion, Confirmation can occur at any time of the year, but large-scale ceremonies generally take place in the spring, so the opportunities for an outdoor event are many. Families may wish to throw backyard barbecues or picnics in a public park or forest preserve for a large number of guests. This approach lends itself to all sorts of recreation (e.g., swimming, volleyball, basketball, or whatever the weather and facilities allow).
Group Parties
Young Catholics are typically confirmed in eighth grade and may wish to celebrate the occasion together. Teaming up with the parents of your child's friends allows you to pool your resources and organize a large celebration. The logistics are more difficult because this approach requires the rental of a hall or a host willing to open a large home or back yard to many guests. The advantage is that there will be plenty of young people around, and the adults may enjoy a chance to mix with people they don't ordinarily see.
Spend a Day With the Sponsor
Confirmation candidates are required to have a sponsor, an adult friend or family member who is already a confirmed Catholic. This person's role is to serve as a guide throughout the preparation for the sacrament. Above and beyond any family celebration, it is meaningful for both the sponsor and the newly confirmed Catholic to spend a special day together, either at a fun event such as a baseball game or in a more solemn way such as on a retreat.
Theme Parties
Families that wish to have large, festive parties may want to build their party around the newly confirmed Catholic's interests and tastes. Sports themes or motifs such as a beach party are popular. Particularly devout families may wish to have a Christian artist perform as musical entertainment (this works best in a rental hall setting, and it may be expensive depending on the performer's fee).
Adult Confirmations
Although the majority of confirmations are for eighth graders, many Catholics are confirmed well into adulthood. They may wish to host their own celebrations, such as a private dinner with friends, family, and the priest who administered the sacrament. Adult confirmations are done throughout the year and often on a one-by-one basis, as opposed to a large group, so it may be easier for clergy to attend a celebration.

How to Run 'Friday Night Magic' at HomeIn Feburary 2016 19,

In Feburary 2016 19,
Ask yourself whether you want your Friday Night Magic to be officially sanctioned. If you want your event to be officially sanctioned, you will need to host the event in a public facility that is accessible to everyone, preferably a gaming store that can qualify for a Wizards Play Network level. You will need to find a Magic the Gathering judge who can attend the event, and you must follow the guidelines set out by Wizards of the Coast (Resources). However, if you just want to host a friendly get-together to play just for fun, keep reading.
Decide whether you want to just get your friends together or whether you want to open game night to anyone who wants to play. Keep in mind that opening it to anyone who wants to play means letting potential strangers into your home.
Find an area in your house that can hold the number of people you are going to have attending. Hosting a gaming night is like hosting any other party. Consider the number of people that you can easily accommodate, and be sure to provide enough snacks and drinks for everyone.
Make sure you have enough tables and chairs for everyone. No one is going to want to have to take turns playing at the kitchen table or resort to playing on the floor.
Invite your Magic the Gathering playing friends. If you are going to open the event to all gamers in your area, you will need to advertise the event. You can advertise via fliers or any other creative way you can think of. You just need to make sure people understand that your event is not an officially sanctioned Friday Night Magic event. Some gamers might not want to give up an official event, where they can improve their tournament rankings and win prizes, just for a friendly get-together.

How to Build a ServerIn Feburary 2016 18,

In Feburary 2016 18,
Find an old computer that you have around the house. Minor upgrades may be necessary. An alternative is to use your active computer as a part-time server. There are sites that suggest minimum specs for a server, but depending on your immediate purpose and budget, any computer can be turned into a server and upgraded as necessary. The key is proper cooling (fans) and keeping the inside clean (blowing out the dust). Web designers and programmers who wish to develop a local server may use their active computers and skip to the server software steps.
Choose a server operating system to install: Windows, Linux or FreeBSD. The last two are open source and cost nothing. However, installation will be unfamiliar for those with Windows experience. Using Windows XP is not advised due to the extra resources and processes that are required to run these operating systems.
Insert the Windows Server software disc and restart the computer to begin installation. Windows Server OS setup is identical to installation of Windows XP, which requires minimal input from the user. Make sure that you set the regional options correctly. Date, time and language selection are necessary to the proper operation of your server.
Installing Server Software
Install your Server Software after OS install is complete. If you've chosen Windows Home Server, then this process is already complete and you may log in to access the control panel. If you've chosen to go with Linux or BSD, then choosing server software is necessary. AppServ is known to be reliable and easy to use. Linux users may like Ubuntu software.
Download and install Appserv or Ubuntu. For server machines built without a disk drive, the use of flash USB drives for installation is an alternative option.
Configure your server by filling in proper information. Your server will be localhost or 127.0.0.1.
Fill in your Admin email. This can be changed later, so it is preferable to fill in an existing email such as 'yourname@msn.com'.
Leave the default HTTP port at 80. For most of your purposes, defaults will not need to be changed. The server name (localhost) and the server port (80) are primary defaults. If you are behind a firewall or router, then you will need to adjust the settings to allow for access.
Choose a password for your MySQL database. The default username is 'root' and cannot be changed at this time. This can be changed later when logging in to the database for the first time and should be for security reasons.
Test your server. Open a browser window and type in 'http://localhost/'. The default welcome site should appear. If you have any problems, review the steps to ensure that you have correctly configured the server.

How to Buy Apple Computers From ChinaIn Feburary 2016 18,

In Feburary 2016 18,
Buy a computer through Apple's website. Go to apple.com and scroll to the bottom of the website. Click on 'Choose Your Country' or 'Region' tab. Click on 'China' (i.e. the red ball with the small yellow star). Then select the 'Mac' tab and choose which computer you want to buy. Next, call Apple at 1-800-692-7753 and tell the customer service department you want to buy an Apple computer from China using Apple's website and they will help you. If they are unable to help, you can use Alibaba.com, Global Resources or Made in China. These third-party vendor websites will give you better pricing. They are ready to do business with you and will give you seller background information. The shipping quotes and pricing can be provided within a few days. You do not have to travel to China or use a Chinese credit card.
Buy a computer using email. Look up Apple Authorized Resellers in China (see link in Resources). Locate on the page the 'Find a Reseller' section and select 'China.' You will now have access to 25 authorized resellers of Apple computers. Email these companies to buy your Apple computer from China. Each company's name appears with a contact email and phone number. Use email to contact the company first since this won't cost anything. Request samples and catalogs if you can and inquire about the shipping guidelines and costs.
If you happen to be visiting China, head to the Cybermart in Shanghai where you can purchase Apple computers and hardware at a very low price. The Cybermart is located at 1 Huai Hai (Tibet) Road in Shanghai. This location does have Authorized Apple Resellers. You can also contact the local tourism company in any city you are visiting to see where you can buy Apple computers.

How to Find Out Who Someone Is on a ForumIn Feburary 2016 15,

In Feburary 2016 15,
Most forums ask for a username, email address and password when somebody signs up. While passwords should always be secret, moderators should be able to access email addresses, even if the user has chosen to hide this in his public profile. In some cases the email address may contain the user's real name. In others you may be able to search online for the address to see if it is mentioned on any other site that might reveal the owner's identity.
IP Address
Moderators should be able to access the IP address of the computer a forum member used, either when registering, on her latest post, or both. You can check the geographic location that matches this address at sites such as IP Location (see Resources), though bear in mind that in some cases this will be the location of the person's Internet service provider. If you can get a geographic location, it may help narrow the search. Alternatively, if you suspect the person has previously posted on the site under a different username (and you know that user's real identity), you can compare the IP addresses on the accounts.
ISPs & Police
Internet service providers will have records that allow them to match an IP address with an individual customer, or at least the customer's household. If an IP check reveals a user's ISP, you can ask the ISP to provide his identity, though it's unlikely the ISP will comply. In most cases an ISP will only do so upon a request from law enforcement authorities and/or a court order. If your reason for wanting to know a user's identity relates to potential criminal activity such as online abuse or harassment, consider contacting the police and letting them work on identifying the individual.
Last Resorts
If you cannot get access to forum data, or it doesn't bring anything up, you can try a few Hail Mary plays. These all might throw up a possible match, but certainly won't be conclusive. If the person has a distinctive avatar, try using Google Image Search to see if she has used it elsewhere. Similarly, carry out a text search if she has a distinctive quotation or other text in their signature, which they may have used on another forum or social site where her identity is clearer. Finally, try right-clicking on any images the user has posted; she may have slipped up and linked to an image hosted on her own site or an identifiable account on another site.

How to Find FTP InformationIn Feburary 2016 14,

In Feburary 2016 14,
Make sure that your Internet connection is secure and its speed is adequate; accessing, downloading and uploading files with an FTP requires a stable connection for accuracy.
Download and install an FTP client for easy management and access of files for your website and many others. Many free clients -- such as FileZilla and Core FTP (see 'Resources' below) -- are available. While FTP information can be accessed through your browser, the layout is unconventional and dated. For the most efficient use of your website's FTP, it is recommended that you get a client at some point.
Navigate to the target website by replacing the “http” in the URL to “ftp” in the specified client address bar. Provide your login credentials and port information if necessary. If you are using a browser, simply enter your URL with the “ftp” prefix in the address bar. Most website content is protected, so a login box will prompt you for your information after the page has finished loading.
Browse through the folders in your FTP client to access the files that are attached to the website. Right-click each individual file to open a list of options for that particular file. If you are using a browser to access a site's FTP, all of the folders will populate in one tree. Click on a folder to access the files and folders inside. Right-click each individual file to open a list of options similar to those that the client would offer.
Navigate to a folder that contains files you wish to upload to the website. For clients such as FileZilla, the local site browser is on the left side of the application. Right-click on a file to access a menu of options such as “Upload” or “Add to Queue”; files will be uploaded to the selected folder of a remote site or to the current FTP site. Unless you have an FTP add-on -- such as FireFTP (see 'Resources' below -- you cannot upload files to a target website from a browser.
Log out of the FTP client or close the browser when you are finished to prevent others from accessing your information.

How to Put a Java Application Into a Web PageIn Feburary 2016 12,

In Feburary 2016 12,
Use the Java Development Kit to create an applet class. An applet class is similar to a normal Java class, but it extends from a parent class called the 'java.applet.Applet' class. This will provide the applet class with additional mechanisms to communicate with Web browsers and interact with Web users. Alternatively, extend the applet from a parent class called the 'javax.swing.JApplet' class if you wish to construct the graphical user interface of the application using Swing components.
Deploy the applet class. Compile the applet class and package along with the necessary resources as a JAR file. The JAR file is a combination of the compiled class file and all its related resources into a stand-alone compressed file. Using a JAR file provides the benefits of security, efficiency, versioning and portability and is recommended by Oracle as a method of deploying Java applications on a Web page.
Create a JNLP file descriptor. JNLP stands for Java Network Launch Protocol and specifies how an applet can be run in the Web page by the Web browser.
Create the Web page to contain the applet. Add a script in the Web page to call the Deployment toolkit. This specifies which applet to run, the width and height of the applet on the Web page and the associated JNLP file. The following is an example of the script call in the Web page:
....<script src='http://www.java.com/js/deployJava.js'></script><script>var attributes = { code:'components.DynamicTreeApplet', width:300, height:300} ;var parameters = {jnlp_href: 'dynamictree-applet.jnlp'} ;deployJava.runApplet(attributes, parameters, '1.6');</script>....
Test the applet to ensure that it displays successfully in a Web page. Place the JAR, JNLP and Web page files in the same folder. Display the Web page using a Web browser that already has the appropriate Java plug-in installed. Programmers can also check the Java Console messages for debugging and error reporting purposes.

How to Host Your Own DomainIn Feburary 2016 04,

In Feburary 2016 04,
Download a Web server. This is usually necessary since Windows doesn't come with a default Web server. Apache is a good program, but you can also download ABYSS, which is a free program that you can download (see Resources).
Read the documentation that is included with ABYSS to familiarize yourself with the program. This is only necessary if you've never used ABYSS, or if you do not have Apache on your system.
Visit the No-IP website (see Resources). Set up an account while you are on this page. Choose the domain name you want to use.
Download the No-IP client. Click on the Windows operating system download. Download the program and then install it.
Fill in the information the program asks for. Make sure the program runs after installing it. Once all of your information is entered, your IP address will resolve to the domain you chose, which should be something like xxxxxx.hostnameofserver.com (where xxxxxx is the name you chose).
