How to Find the Login for FTP for GoDaddyIn Feburary 2016 28,

In Feburary 2016 28,
Check the email you received from GoDaddy when you created your Web hosting account. GoDaddy recommends that customers print out this confirmation email, because it contains important account information that customers often need to use as they manage a website. Either find the email within a folder of your email browser or find the printed copy of the email, because it contains your login name and password.
Visit the GoDaddy website and enter your Customer Number in the upper-left corner of the homepage. Click the 'My Account' tab and then click 'Web Hosting' from beneath the 'Products' section in the left sidebar. Select the domain you wish to view and find the 'Overview' tab. Within the 'Overview' tab, you will see a 'Login' box with your username.
Create a new password if you cannot remember your password and you do not have your confirmation email from GoDaddy. Visit the GoDaddy website and enter your Customer Number in the upper-left corner of the homepage. Click the 'My Account' tab and then click 'Web Hosting' from beneath the 'Products' section in the left sidebar. Click 'Launch' beside the correct hosting account. Within the 'FTP' section, find the 'Password' field and select 'Change.' Enter a new password twice into the appropriate fields and select 'Update.' GoDaddy warns that it may take as long as one hour for a new password to take effect.
Contact GoDaddy if you continue to experience technical problems. Dial (480) 505-8877 to speak with a support representative. Provide your customer PIN or the last four digits of the credit card you used to pay for your Web hosting. Providing either of these numbers identifies you to GoDaddy -- the customer service representative will not assist you without either of these numbers. Ask the support representative for your login information. The representative will email you the information to the email address associated with your Web hosting account.

How to Fix Internet Explorer When It Can't Open a WebpageIn Feburary 2016 14,

In Feburary 2016 14,
Find out whether you can view any web pages. Open Internet Explorer and type in the address of a site with which you are unfamiliar. If you need an idea, look around the room and type in a brand name you see, such as 'Sony.com' or 'Saltines.com.' The reason for this is that if you have recently visited a site, the 'cached' files might appear on your screen and not provide an accurate determination. If you are able to see a new site, the issue is likely with the website you are trying to visit.
Check the connection to the modem or router. If you are unable to view any web pages, your connection might have been lost. Check physical connections to see if anything is unplugged. If you are using a wireless connection, verify that it is still working.
Unplug the modem. Pull both the power cord and the phone line or Ethernet plug out of the back of the modem and leave it alone for a few minutes. Plug the cords back in and allow it to power up completely. Try the connection again.
Contact your Internet service provider. A cable, DSL or phone line outage is a common cause for connectivity issues.
Delete Internet Explorer's history. Close any open applications and open a new Internet Explorer window. Click 'Tools' and then click 'Delete Browsing History.' Click each 'Delete' button, except passwords if you allow IE to retain them for you.

Marble Run InstructionsIn Feburary 2016 13,

In Feburary 2016 13,
You'll need to locate an organization that is hosting a marble run. You can usually find a motorcycle organization in your state that hosts the event every year. Ask other motorcyclists if they know who is hosting an event and where you can purchase a book.Members of the hosting organization sell the books. Businesses that are participating in the event also have the books for sale. These books usually cost $10.00 up, depending on the organization's printing costs. The proceeds from the sale of these books goes to the organization's cause or charity.
What's In The Book?
A marble run book is filled with places you will need to visit as you go about your marble run trips. Each page will have a business name and address in it. These businesses can be anything from bars or restaurants to gas stations or motorcycle shops. It depends on the hosting organization. All of these businesses are generally within a day's trip. There are usually small maps and phone numbers to help you find unfamiliar places. The places are listed in such a way that it is possible to visit several of the businesses in a day's time, all along the same route or in close proximity to each other.
Getting the Book Filled Out
At each designated stop you will either spin a wheel or draw a marble from a bag. This will award you the color for this particular stop. The business owner or an employee will sign your page for you and enter the color you were awarded. You can get together with several friends who are also doing the marble run and plan a day of riding together to get your marble run stops completed. The object is to get as many of the pages filled out as possible before the end of the marble run event. The book will tell you what day and month the event closes.
What to Do With The Filled Out Book
The organization will host an end of run party or get together. The book will tell you when and where this event is to be held. The event usually consists of a meal, live entertainment and door prizes. You will turn in your marble run book at the beginning of this event. Each marble color you have on your pages is worth a predetermined number of points. Those in charge will tally up your colors and award you the appropriate number of points. If you have been awarded the top number of points, you will win a prize or even a monetary award. Some organizations print the colors point amounts in the book, so that you have a good idea how you are doing. Others prefer to wait until the night of the event to assign a point category to the colors. Obviously, the more stops you make on the marble run, the higher your score is likely to be.

How to Host Your Own DomainIn Feburary 2016 04,

In Feburary 2016 04,
Download a Web server. This is usually necessary since Windows doesn't come with a default Web server. Apache is a good program, but you can also download ABYSS, which is a free program that you can download (see Resources).
Read the documentation that is included with ABYSS to familiarize yourself with the program. This is only necessary if you've never used ABYSS, or if you do not have Apache on your system.
Visit the No-IP website (see Resources). Set up an account while you are on this page. Choose the domain name you want to use.
Download the No-IP client. Click on the Windows operating system download. Download the program and then install it.
Fill in the information the program asks for. Make sure the program runs after installing it. Once all of your information is entered, your IP address will resolve to the domain you chose, which should be something like xxxxxx.hostnameofserver.com (where xxxxxx is the name you chose).

How to Start an Online Book ClubIn Feburary 2016 03,

In Feburary 2016 03,
Decide what type of online book club you want to start. Before doing anything else, think about what type of book club you would like. Do you want to focus on a certain genre, a certain author, or a particular group of books. Or, would you rather leave the choice of books wide open for more variety?
Establish guidelines, rules and a schedule.Prior to building your site and recruiting members, create some basic guidelines, rules and a simple schedule. You may want to adjust these later as your group evolves, but it's beneficial to have some policies in place. Visit a few other online book clubs to get an idea of the kind of rules you might want to implement, including membership requirements, how books will be chosen, when they will be discussed, how any spoilers will be posted and a schedule for reading.
Select a forum hosting service. You can build your own website from scratch if you have the knowledge and time, but a much quicker and easier way is to sign up to host your own forum. There are a number of sites that offer free forums, but they do come with limitations and usually some ads. Other sites offer low-priced forum hosting with more options than free hosting. Choose your host carefully, since it can be difficult and frustrating to change services after your board is established, and you may lose members during a switchover. InvisionFree is a popular choice for free forum hosting, and iPowerweb is a top choice for paid forum hosting. Check the Additional Resources section for links to these two providers.
Build your site.Following the instructions provided by your hosting service, build and customize your forum. Consider including areas for discussion of the current book you are reading, discussion of other books, and for general off-topic discussion to give your members a chance to get to know each other better.
Build membership.Once your site is up and running, you are ready to begin recruiting members. Start by scanning your email address list for possible members, then expand your search by posting about your new group in book-related forums and on free classified ad sites like Craigslist. In addition to recruiting online, post flyers in libraries, bookstores and other places where you might find interested members.
Choose your first book.Using the guidelines you created in Step 2, choose your first book, remind members of the guidelines, and begin reading and enjoying your new online book club.
