Open the the folder that contains all the program's information, including the setup.exe file. In a download, it will be in one of three places. To open a CD, you must open 'My Computer,' then right-click the CD icon and click 'Open.' This will reveal all the files and folders contained in the CD.

How to Download an FTP SiteIn Feburary 2016 21,

In Feburary 2016 21,
Secure server space to host your website and collect content you would like to be posted on your site. Now you are ready to transfer your files from your computer to the Web server space via FTP. Download Filezilla from the Web. Filezilla is a free FTP program which is downloaded onto your computer for use in connecting your computer files to your chosen server or Web host. The FTP upload of files to your website is often referred to as the 'back end' of Web design, as you are working 'behind the scenes', so to speak.
Once you have downloaded the Filezilla program, open it on your computer. Enter the required information for the transfer, including your website host's Web address, the port being used for the transfer, the server type, your Web address for the new site, and your account information -- including your password -- for the server. You may need to refer to your own records and/or make contact with your server for some of this information. Once you have entered this information into Filezilla, hit Enter, and it will connect you to the server which will host your site.
Fotolia.com'>
You will need the password for your server account when uploading files via FTP.
Once connected to your server's site via Filezilla, you will see your computer's files on the left side of the screen and the website files on the right side. Right-click a cursor over the file on the left you want to transfer, and then drag it over to the right side area of the screen where the server files are, then take your finger off the cursor. Name the file/page by entering the file or page name into the box that appears. Hit enter, and you now have a page visible to the public posted onto your website.

FTP transfers are done by dragging files with a mouse or cursor.
Name each page or file that you transfer via FTP with name patterns, lest you lose track of what is where within your Web directory shell. Too many files without organization makes an unmanageable site. I name all photo files in my website's directory with the prefix of 'photo' so I know it is a photo file. For instance, I would use photobeach.jpg instead of beach.jpg. Eventually, this will give you neat sections of your web directory with groupings such as photos, banners, videos and documents.

Photos are more managable in a website directory if labeled with a 'photo' prefix.

How to Find Your FTP Port NumbersIn Feburary 2016 19,

In Feburary 2016 19,
Check your email to see if you have received the confirmation email from the Web-hosting service. This should contain your important account information, including the FTP details.
Log into your Web-hosting account to get the FTP details from your hosting control panel. The exact location of this information varies by hosting company. Look for the 'account settings' area of the control panel.
Use your hosting company's online help database to find your FTP port numbers. Typically the port numbers are the same for all users. Most of the time you will be using either port 20 or 21, but you should confirm this with your hosting company.

How to Create a Multipage WebsiteIn Feburary 2016 16,

In Feburary 2016 16,
Decide what pages your website should actually have. Starting out with a plan will save plenty of time later. For example, a basic website might consist of three pages: a homepage, an 'About' page, and a photo gallery.
Open a text editor such as Notepad (in Windows) or TextEdit (on a Mac) and create a new file for each page you plan on including. When saving each file, make sure to save them with a '.html' extension, and name your homepage 'index.' So using the above example, you would create three pages: 'index.html,' 'about.html,' and 'gallery.html.'
Think of a domain name ('example.com') to name your site. Come up with something easy to remember, as brief as possible, and spelled correctly.
Sign up for a web hosting plan. Since this is a very basic site, you won't need to pay for anything fancy, and in fact you can get a hosting plan for free from sites such as FreeHostia (see Resources). When signing up, you'll be able to register your domain name, which should cost about $10 for a year.
Log into the hosting control panel that your web host provided you after you signed up. Inside, there should be a 'File Manager' section. Open it, and look for a folder either named 'public_html' or named after your domain. Upload all your HTML files inside it.
Open a new browser window and type in your domain name in the address bar. The page that's automatically displayed will be 'index.html,' and you can reach your other pages by going to example.com/about.html, example.com/gallery.html, and so on.Of course, unless you've added something to each page, they're blank. To actually fill your pages with content, you'll need to write some HTML code, which is the basic language of the web and very easy to learn (see Resources for free HTML tutorials).

How to Install Wordpress On 1and1 ServersIn Feburary 2016 11,

In Feburary 2016 11,
Log in to your 1and1 control panel and click the hosting package on which you want to install WordPress.
Click “MySQL” under the Database heading on the hosting panel and then select “MySQL Database.”
Enter a description for your new database in the field provided. Something as simple as “WordPress Database” is fine, provided you only plan to have one iteration of WordPress installed on your 1and1 account.
Create a password for the database in the “Password” field and then verify it in the “Repeat Password” field. Make a note of this password as you will need it when installing WordPress.
Click “Set Up” to finish creating your database. When creation is complete, 1and1 displays the details of your database, including the database name and username. Make a note of both of these values as you will need them when installing WordPress.
Installing Wordpress
Download the latest version of WordPress onto your computer and extract its contents to your desktop or another memorable location.
Upload the contents of the extracted WordPress folder to the location on your 1and1 server where you want WordPress to appear. If you don’t have FTP software, a number of free options are available, including FileZilla, SmartFTP and CoreFTP.
Update your 1and1 destination folder so that it points to WordPress. Log in to the 1and1 control panel, select the hosting package associated with WordPress and then select “Domain Center” on the Domains control panel. Place a check mark in the box next to the domain you want to use with WordPress and then click the “Edit Destination” button. Select the “Webspace” radio button, click the arrow icon located under the Target Directory field and select the folder into which you uploaded WordPress. Click “Save” when you are finished.
Wait at least 15 minutes for 1and1’s servers to adopt your domain changes.
Open a new browser tab or window and visit the domain associated with WordPress. This is the domain you just pointed to your WordPress destination folder.
Click “Create a Configuration File” and then click “Let’s Go” to initiate the configuration process.
Enter your WordPress database name, username and password in the provided fields. These are the values you noted earlier when creating your database.
Click “Submit” and then press the “Run the Install” button.
Fill out the Five-Minute-Install form and press the “Install WordPress” button to finish installing WordPress. For security purposes, the username and password you create here should be different from those associated with your database. These will be the username and password you use whenever you log in to WordPress.

How to Set Up a Proxy ServerIn Feburary 2016 08,

In Feburary 2016 08,
Set up WinProxy. WinProxy is widely used for windows-based servers which also provides Network Address Translation (NAT) and also supports HTTP, Real Audio, Real Video, FTP, Telnet, Secure Sockets and DNS. The system is popularity because it doesn't need to have any software loaded on the client's end, thereby saving time and effort.
Ensure that all the systems, including the client's systems, have been configured with TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol). TCP/IP is the basic communication language or protocol used by Internet, as well as private networks, to access the intranet (internal sites) or extranet (external sites).
Run the installation wizard for the WinProxy. You would need to initially enter the product key on the initial screen to register the product.
Select the type of Internet connection and choose the name of your connection.
Enter the user name and password of your Internet connection.
Let the automactic configuration scripts of the WinProxy run. This allows WinProxy to assign IP (Internet Protocol) addresses automatically to each device within the LAN (Local Area Network), meaning the internal connections. Each IP is unique on each device.
Follow the prompt to disconnect from your network, if you are already connected. WinProxy will then go through the verifications of each operation.
Verify if your proxy server works by having a tester or client computer test the system. The person should be allowed to get through the selected sites. Also, the proxy server should be able to check the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of outgoing requests made for Web pages. This is done by inspecting HTTP GET and POST messages. Lastly, the system should also be able to see incoming data traffic, including filtering content of incoming messages.
