How to Set up Port Forwarding for a NetworkIn Feburary 2016 28,

In Feburary 2016 28,
Make a list of ports you need to forward. Most programs require their ports to be forwarded; if this is not done, information from these programs will not be seen by your local computer. If you know a program for which ports need to be forwarded, write it down. Afterwards, check the software manufacturer's website to find the port or series of ports along with the protocol type associated with your program/application of interest. Write this down as well.
Set up a static IP address on the computer for which ports will be forwarded. To set up a static IP address on a Mac OS X, simply click the apple icon on the top left corner of the screen, select 'System Preferences' and under 'Internet and Network,' select 'Network.' Select the network connection you are currently using and click 'Configure.' Click 'Configure IPv4' and select 'Manually.' The IP address you select should be similar to your router's IP address with the last number ranging range from 1-254. Typically, you can add 10 or more to the your router's last number. This should work in most cases as a static IP address. For instance, if your router's address is 192.168.1.1, you can choose 192.168.1.11 as your static IP address.
Start forwarding your ports by accessing your router's website. Open a web browser (Explorer, Safari or Firefox) and enter your router's IP address after the http://. This should lead you to your router's website. Locate the links which will lead you to Port Forwarding or Port Redirection. Once there, simply indicate the Program/Application Name, protocol type (TCP or IP) and port number(s) on both the public and private ports. You might need to check off a box to indicate that you would like to activate this port. Click 'OK' or 'Save' to save your settings.
Reconfigure your firewall so that you are able to open ports that are being blocked by your firewall. Alternatively, you can disable your firewalls and turn them on manually one at a time to see which firewall is blocking ports from entering your LAN.

How to Troubleshoot AirPort IssuesIn Feburary 2016 15,

In Feburary 2016 15,
Check the wire connections at your AirPort's base station. First check to be sure that the unit is getting power and turned on. Swap out the Ethernet cord that connects to the base station for a cord that you know works.
Determine whether the AirPort issues are affecting one computer or all of the computers on the network. If the problem is on the entire network, trying turning off the AirPort base station for a few minutes. You should also restart all of your computers while you're waiting to power up the base station.
Open up the System Preferences by clicking on the Apple icon in the top left corner of your screen and then go into the 'Network' preferences. Verify that your AirPort card is set up to connect to the Internet as required by your Internet service provider. You may only need to change your 'location' back to one of your saved settings.
Perform a 'hard reset' by pressing and holding the reset button on your AirPort base. This button is located in different areas depending on the model, but it is a small button that you need to push with a pencil tip or paper clip. Be sure to hold the reset button for at least 10 seconds or until the LED light starts to flash.
Reconnect your computer to the base station with an Ethernet cord and reconfigure your wireless network. Use the AirPort Setup Assistant, which is located in the 'Utilities' subsection of your 'Applications' folder, to set up your AirPort base station. You may need to refer to the account information provided to you by your ISP.
Check to be sure that your AirPort card is installed correctly. The card will most likely only be a problem if you're using an older Mac that didn't come with the card already installed. Be sure to turn off and unplug the computer before you open it up to check the card.

Log into your domain registry account with your administrator login and password. Open the records for the domain that you wish to work with. You open these records via a prompt that is sometimes known as 'Account Manager' or 'Control Panel,' or you may alternately be prompted to click directly on the name of the domain itself.
Unlock your domain. There is an 'Unlock' icon or prompt on most control panels or account managers. Alternately, you will notice an icon or prompt for unlocking next to your domain name.

The mandatory nameserver addresses begin with 'NS1' and 'NS2' and can include the name of the hosting company, the address of your site, or any other address, followed by a suffix such as .com or .net.
Save your changes by clicking the 'Save' button or icon on your registry records manager. Relock your domain.
Wait 48 hours before verifying that your DNS changes have indeed propagated. If your website is not visible after 48 hours, contact your hosting company technical support service.
