How to Start a Business Offering Your Own Web ServerIn Feburary 2016 22,

In Feburary 2016 22,
Research various Web hosting providers that offer reseller accounts for dedicated or virtual private server hosting. Thousands of Web server providers exist on the Web; however, few actually maintain their own servers or data centers. For information on Web server hosting providers, visit websites like WebHostingTalk or ResellerPremium. These types of sites offer insight into server companies and the plans they offer. When researching dedicated or virtual private server hosting companies, review comments made by other resellers regarding reliability, pricing plans and support for partners or resellers.
Subscribe to and purchase a server reseller-hosting plan. When subscribing to a plan, consider paying for a full year of reseller hosting in advance, as you will probably receive a discount on the wholesale rate plan.
Learn the management interface that the server provider uses with its system. The management interface is a crucial component of your Web server business and is where you assign, configure and maintain customer server accounts. Create a few sample accounts and configure two or three test servers to learn how to perform the tasks quickly and efficiently. Once customers begin ordering hosting services from your company, they will expect quick configuration and use of their servers.
Publish a domain name that identifies your company as a web server provider. Create a professional website for the business or hire a Web designer to do the work for you. When creating the website, list detailed information on the types and configurations of the Web servers you offer, hosting plan information and pricing information. Provide information on the types of operating systems available, bandwidth usage policies and acceptable uses for the Web servers. To avoid potential legal issues, do not allow website owners to use the servers to display pornography, facilitate transfers of copyrighted material or violate and laws.
Develop a payment processing system for the website. Create an online form for users to submit billing and payment information. Alternatively, have them submit contact information and then call them for needed payment details.
Advertise your Web server company on as many high-volume websites as possible. Alternatively, purchase ads or advertising credits from major traffic-producing sites like Google, LinkShare or DoubleClick. Keep in mind that to drive customers to your site, you must create as much exposure for your new Web business as possible.
Receive orders for Web server hosting accounts and process the payments. Assist the customer in setting up the dedicated or virtual private server as needed.

How to Put a Java Application Into a Web PageIn Feburary 2016 12,

In Feburary 2016 12,
Use the Java Development Kit to create an applet class. An applet class is similar to a normal Java class, but it extends from a parent class called the 'java.applet.Applet' class. This will provide the applet class with additional mechanisms to communicate with Web browsers and interact with Web users. Alternatively, extend the applet from a parent class called the 'javax.swing.JApplet' class if you wish to construct the graphical user interface of the application using Swing components.
Deploy the applet class. Compile the applet class and package along with the necessary resources as a JAR file. The JAR file is a combination of the compiled class file and all its related resources into a stand-alone compressed file. Using a JAR file provides the benefits of security, efficiency, versioning and portability and is recommended by Oracle as a method of deploying Java applications on a Web page.
Create a JNLP file descriptor. JNLP stands for Java Network Launch Protocol and specifies how an applet can be run in the Web page by the Web browser.
Create the Web page to contain the applet. Add a script in the Web page to call the Deployment toolkit. This specifies which applet to run, the width and height of the applet on the Web page and the associated JNLP file. The following is an example of the script call in the Web page:
....<script src='http://www.java.com/js/deployJava.js'></script><script>var attributes = { code:'components.DynamicTreeApplet', width:300, height:300} ;var parameters = {jnlp_href: 'dynamictree-applet.jnlp'} ;deployJava.runApplet(attributes, parameters, '1.6');</script>....
Test the applet to ensure that it displays successfully in a Web page. Place the JAR, JNLP and Web page files in the same folder. Display the Web page using a Web browser that already has the appropriate Java plug-in installed. Programmers can also check the Java Console messages for debugging and error reporting purposes.

How to Create a Subscription Web SiteIn Feburary 2016 06,

In Feburary 2016 06,
Create a Web-hosting account. Find a Web host that allows installation of third-party software. Hosting of this variety can be found for about $4 per month as of August 2010 (see reference 2).
Install the content management system (CMS) to manage the website's content. The Web host likely offers two or three different packages as part of its hosting plan. Common open-source choices are Drupal, Joomla and Mambo (see reference 1). These packages are installed through a point-and-click interface from the hosting control panel. Installation and configuration takes less than five minutes to complete.
Customize the CMS installation. Set user permissions to allow registered and anonymous user access. Apply a design theme to set the look and feel of the website, and upload the custom graphics that will be used. All of these are accomplished from the CMS admin control panel. Each item has its own heading to configure that option. Click the heading, set the option and select 'save' when done to apply the new setting.
Create the website content. This includes the written and graphical content. The CMS includes a content editor as part of the program, so content can be created directly in the CMS. Another part of creating content in a CMS is assigning who is able to access that content. As pages are created, assign a permission level of 'registered' or 'anonymous.' Content set to 'registered' is available only to subscribers. The setting is a drop-down box located at the bottom of the content creation editor. Choose the access level, and then click 'save' to apply the permissions.
Set up a payment processing account. The payment processor will handle billing the customer through credit card or alternative means, then deposit that money into your account after subtracting the processing fees. Popular choices for small businesses are PayPal and Google, but other options also exist (see reference 3). Do your homework to find the best mix of processing fees and value-added services offered by the payment processor.
Test the website thoroughly before deployment. Nothing annoys paying customers like not being able to get what they paid for. Test every functional aspect of the website before going live. Once confirmed operational, the site is ready to be launched.

How to Insert an MPEG Video Into DreamWeaverIn Feburary 2016 04,

In Feburary 2016 04,
Upload the video to your Web page's server. Do this with whatever FTP program you usually use to upload images, objects and HTML files. You can also use Dreamweaver for this. Select the video that you want to upload In the 'Files' palette and click the blue 'Up' button.
Click the 'Code' button at the top of the Dreamweaver interface. This will put you into Code View, allowing you to view and edit the actual HTML code for your Web page.
Find the place in the code where you want to embed the video. This can be tricky if you've never worked with HTML, but you'll have plenty of chances to experiment. Look for text that tips you off to where you are in the page or look for images (represented in HTML by tags, where 'xxx' is the image filename) that do the same.
Insert the following code:
where 'movie.mpeg' is the filename (and path, if it's not the same as the HTML file) of your movie, and the two values under 'width' and 'height' are whatever you want to use. (If you leave these attributes out, the movie will appear in its actual size.) Control the attributes of the embedded movie by adding any number of arguments, separated by spaces, just like the 'width' and 'height' arguments. Here's a partial list:autostart='true' to make the video begin playing automaticallyloop='true' to make the video continue playing forever unless stopped by the userstarttime='00:00' to make the video begin at a particular location (minutes:seconds)align='left'/'right'/'top'/'bottom' to place the video relative to the text around it
Click the 'Design' button to return to the standard Dreamweaver view, then test your video.
