How to Host a Go Daddy Domain on HostGatorIn Feburary 2016 27,

In Feburary 2016 27,
Select a domain name for your website. Take some time with this and make sure that the domain name you choose is descriptive and spelled correctly.
Navigate to Go Daddy (godaddy.com) and register your domain name.
Go to HostGator (hostgator.com) and register for a hosting plan for your website. Choose a plan that will suit your current and future goals. If you think you'll eventually have more than one blog in the near future, it's a good financial decision to purchase a plan that will let you host more than one site for one low price, rather than paying $5 per site each month.
After completing your host plan purchase, HostGator will send you a confirmation email thanking you for your purchase. The site will also send you an email with the subject line, 'Your HostGator Account Information.' Save this email (save a hard copy by using your computer printer, and save it in your email account).
Navigate to Go Daddy once again, and log in.
From the top navigation bar, click 'Domains' and select 'My domains' from the drop-down menu. A new page or tab (depending on your browser) will appear, listing all of the domains you've purchased from Go Daddy. Check the box next to the one you want to host on HostGator. After checking the box, a navigation bar will fill in above the domain name list.
Click 'Nameservers.' This will open up a new section at the top of your screen.
Select the 'Custom nameservers (I host my domains elsewhere)' radio button.
Open up the saved email that HostGator sent you and find the section that states, 'Your name servers:'
In the Go Daddy Nameservers Control Panel, replace the nameserver in the 'nameserver 1' box with the first value that HostGator sent you. It should look like XXXXXX.hostgator.com (with the Xs being your unique values that HostGator assigned).
Next, replace the nameserver in the 'nameserver 2' box with the second value that HostGator sent you. It should look like XXXXXX.hostgator.com (with the Xs being your unique values that HostGator gave you).
Click the orange 'Okay' button to finish the process.
Log in to your HostGator account. Add your Go Daddy domain to your hosting plan and you're done.

How to Upload Files From Your ComputerIn Feburary 2016 12,

In Feburary 2016 12,
Use File Dropper to upload files up to 5 GB in size. Visit the File Dropper website and select a file from your hard drive to begin uploading it to the File Dropper servers. After the file has finished uploading, File Dropper will provide you with a link to download the file. File Dropper will delete any files that have not been downloaded at least once within 30 days. Sign up for a premium account to store files on the File Dropper servers indefinitely.
Upload files to Uploading.com, a free storage website that supports files up to 1 GB in size. Visit the Uploading website and select up to 10 files from your hard drive. Use the 'More Options' link to share the link with other people by entering their e-mail addresses. Then click the 'Upload Now' button to begin uploading the selected files. The uploaded files will stay on the Uploading servers for one month. Sign up for a free Uploading account and the files will be stored for two months, or sign up for a premium account to store the files indefinitely.
Use an FTP client to upload files to an FTP Web host. Download and install an FTP client such as Core FTP Lite, FileZilla or OneButton FTP. These are all freeware programs that can navigate and upload files to an FTP server. Run the FTP client and enter the FTP server's name, the login for the FTP account and the account's password into the FTP client. Use the FTP client to connect to the FTP server, then navigate to the appropriate directory and drag-and-drop files from the hard drive into one of the FTP's directories to upload them to the server.
Upload files to MediaFire. MediaFire does not require users to have an account before uploading files, but creating a free account allows users additional file management opportunities. Then select files from your hard drive to upload. After the files have finished uploading, copy or bookmark the download link to download the file in the future. MediaFire supports files up to 200 MB in size for free users, and up to 10 GB file size for MediaPro users. There is no set time limit that MediaFire stores free users' uploaded files, but they will delete files that are not being downloaded on a regular basis. MediaFire sends at least three notification e-mails to free users before deleting their files. Free users can keep their files active by simply logging in to their MediaFire accounts.
Upload images and videos to ImageShack, TinyPic or Flickr. These services are all free and are designed to help users share photos and videos with their friends online. Create a free account on one of these three media sharing sites and begin uploading photos and videos from the hard drive. After the files have uploaded, use the links to share your photos and videos with friends via e-mail, MySpace, Facebook and other social networking sites.

How to Create a Web Site With an Online Radio StationIn Feburary 2016 12,

In Feburary 2016 12,
Start out by planning your new radio station. Ask yourself questions such as, 'What will I play?' and 'What size audience do I expect?' Radio formats come in music or talk, each with its ups and downs. Talk radio requires a microphone and some idea of what you will talk about, but there are far less legal concerns associated with it than music. Do not plan for playing music to which you do not have rights, permission, or licensing to play. Some streaming services pay royalties for you, as part of your service through them, although they may not be appropriate for streaming directly from your website. As for audience size, be aware that as it grows, the stream will become more costly to run.
Sign up for a stream hosting account. For radio stations, the best bitrates are between 64kbps and 128kbps for decent quality audio streaming. To create a radio station that runs on auto-pilot, choose a stream hosting package that includes disk space for hosting your audio files. These packages cost a few dollars more per month but are worth it if you want to run a twenty-four hour a day radio station on your own.
If you do not already have Winamp on your computer, download and install it. ShoutCast, a popular tool for streaming audio on the Web, requires Winamp and a special plug-in to broadcast. Once Winamp is installed, grab the ShoutCast DSP plug-in from the ShoutCast website. Close Winamp if it is already running, and then start the installer for the plug-in. Start Winamp and hit 'Ctrl+P' to bring up the Preferences menu. Choose 'DSP/Effect' under 'Plugins' and configure the ShoutCast plug-in with your stream information.
Create Your Website
Purchase an inexpensive Web hosting account with a domain name and the third-party application installer Fantastico, which will install WordPress for you with only a few simple steps. Log-in and click on the Fantastico icon, and then choose WordPress. This blogging system is also a powerful content management system (CMS) that allows for easy plug-in installation, and that will come in useful when integrating your radio station.
Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard. To change WordPress from a blog into a CMS with a static front page, click 'Pages' on the right-hand menu and add a new page. Name the new page 'Blog' and then go to 'Settings' on the right-hand menu. From there, go to 'Reading' and set WordPress to use a static front page. Use the automatically created 'About' page for the front page and 'Blog' for the blog page. Now, your site can have a blog, but it will not be the first page visitors see when surfing to your website.
Go to 'Permalinks' under 'Settings' and choose a permalink structure other than the default. Doing this gives every page made within WordPress its own semantic name rather than numbers.
Go to 'Plugins' on the right-hand menu and click 'add plugin.' Search for 'shoutcast' and look at the list of plug-ins for streaming radio on your website. Install 'Shout Stream' and activate. Click on 'Settings' and go to 'Shout Stream' for that plug-in's settings page. Fill in the form with information about your radio stream so that the widget can connect to it. Go to 'Appearance' and then 'Widgets' to click and drag the 'Shout Stream' widget into your sidebar. Now when you visit your site, you will see a radio player in your sidebar. Click on it and play!

The Cost of Starting a WebIn Feburary 2016 08,

In Feburary 2016 08,
Registering a domain name is necessary for an online business. Once a business name is established, the domain name is registered at websites such as Dotster.com, Register.com and GoDaddy.com. The cost of a domain name is dependent on the extension. For most business owners, a .com extension is beneficial because it is the most commonly known extension among people. A one-year registration service for a .com domain name is around $15. This service needs to be renewed every year.
Hosting Service
Hosting services have a wide range of prices, and prices are determined by the platform the business uses. Programming a website in .NET is usually more expensive, whereas a PHP website can be hosted for as low as $5 to $10 a month. Free services are available, but free services require ads or popups, which is not professional for business purposes.
Database
Database service is for websites that host dynamic content. The most common databases for Internet websites are mySQL and SQL Server; the former is usually a free or minimally charged service from the host of the website, and the SQL Server costs slightly more and is used with .NET websites. SQL Server costs can be as low as $10 per month.
Programming and Design
Unless the business owners have programming and design experience, it's necessary to hire a professional programmer and designer. Some shops have both services in-house. The programming and design can be accomplished using separate service providers. The designer can provide a design that the programmer works with to create the web pages. The cost of a programmer and a designer is dependent on experience and the complexity of the website. Some professionals may charge as low as $20 per hour. More advanced sites may need a highly skilled programmer and designer, which can cost $50 to $75 per hour.
Computer Resources
Owning a web-based business means that you need a computer with high-speed online service. These costs are also dependent on location and type of service. High-speed Internet access is necessary for the business owner to communicate with clients, conduct research and upload new pages and images. The cost for Internet connect can run from $30 to $100 per month.

How to Make a Online Inventory SystemIn Feburary 2016 03,

In Feburary 2016 03,
Make sure you have a domain name set up for your business. Your domain name is the address that people will type into their browser to reach your inventory system. (Yourinventorysystem.com) domain registrars can charge between $1 and $14 per year.
Obtain web hosting for your online inventory system. Online web hosts are responsible for providing the memory and web-space for the content and traffic for your website. Web host can charge anywhere from three dollars and up per month. If you already have a website for your business, then you already have web hosting.
Determine if you like to use inventory software that has already been created or if you need to hire a programmer to integrate your inventory system into your website. Use sites like Getafreelancer.com and Elance.com to locate freelance computer programmers to make a custom inventory system for your site. Based on your budget, programmers from around the world will be on your project.
Purchase online inventory software to integrate with your website. For example visual inventory is a software that does not require you to create a website as it will automatically integrate to your web or network server. You will be able to input the type of products you have and customize the software to maintain inventory for either multiple owners, departments, locations, etc. Pricing for various inventory software can be free or you can pay over $5000. Purchasing inventory software is an alternative to hiring a computer programmer.
Make sure you and other colleagues test out the inventory system before going live. Test out the software for glitches and other issues that may need to troubleshoot. You may need to conduct a training session who will be accessing your inventory system to ensure they know what they are doing.

How to Change Web Hosting Service ProvidersIn Feburary 2016 01,

In Feburary 2016 01,
Do your homework when deciding which host to move your website to. Moving your site to a new host is a lot of work so you don't want to have to do it too often. Choose a new web host that offers room for expansion if your business grows.
Give yourself plenty of time to make the change over to the new host. Even though it means one month of double expenses, it is a good idea to start services with your new host one month before discontinuing services with your old host. This will give you 30 days to work out any problems at the new site.
Pack up your business at your current hosting site by making copies of all of your web pages and files on CD. Arrange to have services you were using and don't need any more to be disconnected at the end of the month.
Notify your domain name registrar of your move. This is the company that you registered your ecommerce site name with. They need to know the domain name and IP address for both your old web host and your new one.
Set up your site at your new web host by uploading all of the pages and files you packed onto CD. Start any new services that you need in your new home.
Notify your customers of your new email address if it changed when you moved to the new hosting site. Set up mail forwarding with your new web host to ensure that any mail sent to your old email address will be forwarded.
