How to Choose a Web Hosting ServiceIn Feburary 2016 28,

In Feburary 2016 28,
Make sure the host's server provides a sufficiently fast connection to the Internet. A T3 connection is optimal, but a T1 will work for most Web sites. A dial-up connection is usually much too slow.
Find out how many machines will be sharing the server with you. You don't want to be slowed down by traffic from other sites. Compare this number with other hosting services to give yourself negotiating room.
Investigate limits on bandwidth and hits. Make sure you won't be charged severely if a lot of traffic goes through your site. Look for reasonable flat monthly rates as opposed to rates based on use.
Find out what kind of customer support the host offers. Twenty-four hour support and speedy replies aren't unreasonable demands. Try to avoid paying for customer support.
Plan ahead when thinking about Web space. The amount of space you need depends on the nature of your site, but be sure to give your site room to grow.
Look for a company that offers virtual hosting. This will allow you to use your own domain name (www.yoursite.com) as your URL as opposed to a directory within the host's domain (www.host.com/yoursite). If you don't feel that you need your own domain name, save money and stick with the host's URL.
Make sure the host provides adequate CGI-bin access if you'll be using forms, and that the CGI bin can support your scripts. You should have your own CGI-bin directory with unlimited access.
Opt for Web-based administration if you're unfamiliar with Web programming. This will provide a Web-based interface for the maintenance of the site.
Look for a host that offers FTP and Telnet access to facilitate uploading files and editing CGI scripts.
Evaluate your e-mail needs. Some servers offer POP mailboxes, while others simply offer aliases that reroute mail to existing mailboxes. Some hosts put limits on the number of allowed aliases. Make sure you fully understand the host's e-mail services.

How Does Internet Radio Make MoneyIn Feburary 2016 19,

In Feburary 2016 19,
While there are options available that allow an individual to create and maintain simple and free Internet radio stations there are still costs associated with maintaining and running a station, no matter how large or small.
Equipment, Internet access, hosting fees and potential royalty payments to record labels (stations playing any copyrighted music must pay royalties) can turn even a free online station into a monthly expense for the owner, so it is in her best interest to find sources of income to help pay the bills.
Ad-Based Internet Radio
Internet radio stations can sell airtime to advertisers and play their ads during programming. For novice and smaller operations, web-based ads may work better. Programs such as Google AdSense allow anyone with a website to sign up for free and place Google-programmed ads on their station's websites.
Donations
Many stations solicit donations from loyal listeners to help pay the bills. Companies such as PayPal allow users to set up a free account and add a 'PayPal donation' button to their website.
Listeners can then donate a set amount or the amount of their choice or sign up to donate automatically on a monthly basis, giving listeners the ability to support radio programming they enjoy.
Payola Practices
Payola—when a band or record label pays a radio station or DJ to play its music—is illegal, as it has been dating back to the 1950s, when such scandals rocked the commercial-radio business. But it is technically legal for a band or record label to pay a station to play a song as long as the station announces that arrangement on air before playing the song, notes that the song does not constitute regular airplay, and states that the song is sponsored airtime.
Some consider this practice, even with full disclosure, to be unethical, so a station owner should decide where she stands on this issue.

How to Create an Online Fashion MagazineIn Feburary 2016 14,

In Feburary 2016 14,
Choose a magazine topic. From budget fashion to clothing for plus-sized women, topics for online fashion magazines are plentiful. Pick a subject with a wide audience of faithful readers. Find a niche where the competition for new publications is low. After selecting the online fashion magazine’s topic, create an engaging, but memorable name for the publication.
Reserve your domain name and hosting. Enter the name of your online fashion magazine into a domain research engine. Reserve the URL. Domain registration fees can range from free to $10 a month. Hosting fees can cost between a few hundred dollars per year up to the low thousands of dollars.
Create an editorial calendar. Decide whether your online fashion magazine will publish content monthly or quarterly. After this decision is made, plan the specific theme for each publication date. As the editor-in-chief/director of sales for the online publication, the editorial calendar helps you recommend to advertisers which ads will fit the content and fashion layouts planned in each issue adequately.
Design the magazine. To complete your online fashion magazine, make a list of the following components: layout, typeface, number of web pages, and graphical elements required. Hire a graphic designer to help lay out the magazine and design the masthead. Rates for freelance graphic designers range from $25 to $150 per hour, depending upon skill set and areas of expertise.
Hire freelance staff. If your budget permits, hire a minimum of three freelance writers and a marketing guru to help create content and publicity. Hire online writers that have experience with search engine optimization and fashion editorial.
Solicit advertisers. If launching a free publication, seek out regional advertisers to support the costs of production, web hosting and marketing. Before launching the website, send a media kit, advertising rates, a mock of the online fashion magazine, and your editorial calendar to prospective advertisers.
Use free publicity, contests, and blogging to drive readers to your online fashion magazine. Send out press releases to local journalists announcing the launch of your magazine. Use contests and giveaways to build your readership. Add a blog component to your online fashion magazine to encourage two-way communication between your publication and its readers.

What Is the Difference Between Internal External Website Hosting? In Feburary 2016 09,

In Feburary 2016 09,
Internal hosting for a website refers to a company possessing its own servers and hardware dedicated to its website's files and bandwidth. Everything is run and managed in-house, and all of the equipment, technology and support are provided directly by the company itself.
What Is External Hosting?
External hosting for websites includes buying service space and bandwidth capabilities from another company. Large hosting companies, ranging from Host Gator to Go Daddy and dozens of others, provide a variety of plans with different monthly fees. This enables businesses of all sizes to have a website without the need for their own equipment and resources.
Pros and Cons of Internal Hosting
The advantages of internal hosting include direct oversight and control. When everything is properly set up, maintained and scaled, it provides maximum reliability. Drawbacks include the upfront costs of purchasing servers and other equipment, as well as the need for IT staffing to manage and support the server and network. It requires special attention and care for installation and ongoing maintenance.
Pros and Cons of External Hosting
External hosting is typically cheap, and easy to get started with. Hosting plans for many companies start at $10 per month or less, no equipment needs to be purchased and no additional staffing or other resources are needed. Support and security are provided for the business as well. Drawbacks include a lack of direct oversight and the potential for increased downtime or outages depending on the scale of the hosting plan that's purchased.
Choose Based on Needs
No single solution will work for every organization or business. Choosing between internal hosting and external hosting for a website means thinking about the needs, resources and desires of the particular enterprise. Choose a solution that will be easy to implement and work with, and will provide the greatest range of benefits that the business hopes to achieve based upon its size and the nature of its operations.
