How to Plan a ConventionIn Feburary 2016 23,

In Feburary 2016 23,
An organization’s goals for a convention are not always the same as the convention attendee’s goals. Learn the organization’s reasons for hosting the convention. It might be to attract and retain members, generate profits, provide board and committee members with a vacation perk or generate media publicity for the organization.
Set Your Tactical Plan
Once you know your strategic goals, set your tactical objectives for reaching them. These can include choosing seminars and speakers to attract specific attendee types, having a revenue-producing trade show, adding spouse activities to increase attendance, organizing social functions such as a golf tournament or river cruise, having an awards banquet or conducting an annual vote of the membership. Your marketing plan should include the advertising, public relations, promotional and social media strategies to promote the convention.
Plan the Budget
Determine the organization’s financial goals for the convention, and review your numbers. You might be limited to a specific budget if the convention is an expense. The organization might have a profit target, or you might be allowed to spend based on your expected revenue. Create projections based on optimistic and conservative registration and sponsorship revenues.
Outline Your Agenda
Next, plan your event agenda. Choose your date, venue and activities. Many conventions have a theme that explains the event’s overall purpose and helps attract attendees. You might need to solicit input on dates and potential locations from your board or attendees and conduct site visits to multiple venues before you choose one. Review information about previous conventions to learn about venues, attendance, financial performance and attendee and sponsor feedback. Create a calendar that starts with attendee check-in and outlines each day’s schedule.
Research Logistical Needs
Begin contacting venues, speakers, caterers, entertainment options, audiovisual companies, printers and travel companies. Determine how to handle marketing, registrations, sponsorships, badges, check-ins, trade show booths, gift bags, program books and website pages. Send requests for proposals for external vendors such as resorts, caterers, golf courses and travel agencies. Put together your desired vendor list and costs.
Write a Proposal
Prepare a document that shows your board or convention team your plan for the convention. Include your understanding of the organization’s goals and how you plan to meet those objectives. Provide an agenda of the event with a detailed daily schedule. Present a complete budget. Explain why you selected the theme, location, seminar topics, speakers and social activities. Justify your attendance, expense and revenue projections based on your research.

How to Transfer a Domain to GodaddyIn Feburary 2016 17,

In Feburary 2016 17,
Before you can actually transfer your domain to GoDaddy, first you need to prepare it. Visit the Whois database (link in Resources) and verify that the email address associated with your domain is correct. This is the email address GoDaddy uses to communicate with you during the transfer process. If the email address is listed as private on the Whois database, contact your current registrar to cancel the private registration. The email address must be publicly viewable on Whois before you can proceed. [ref 1]
Unlocking the Domain and Obtaining the Authorization Code
Once you’ve verified that the email address is correct and public, contact the current registrar to ask them to unlock your domain. The domain must be unlocked by the current registrar before it can be transferred to GoDaddy. You also need to obtain an authorization code from the current registrar. Depending on your registrar, this code may also referred to as a transfer key or an EPP code.
Transferring the Domain to GoDaddy
After you’ve unlocked the domain and obtained the transfer authorization code, visit the GoDaddy website and purchase the domain name transfer (link in Resources). Log in to the GoDaddy Account Manager after the purchase is complete and click “Launch” next to the Domains heading. Select “Transfers,” click “Authorize transfer” and then click “Add now.” Enter the transaction ID and security code in the provided fields and then click “Add.” The transaction ID and security code were sent to your email by GoDaddy when you purchased the domain transfer. Next, select the “Basic” tab and enter the authorization code you obtained from the current registrar of the domain. Click “I authorize the transfer,” choose “Finish” and then click “OK.”
Restrictions and Checking the Progress of Your Transfer
Some domain names require a few additional steps before they can be transferred. UK domains, for example, require that you contact the current registrar and request an IPS tag change. If you’re attempting to transfer a foreign top-level domain, consult your current registrar to determine whether additional arrangements need to be made with them before the transfer can go through.Once you complete the transfer request, monitor the status of the transfer through the GoDaddy Account Manager. Log in to your account and select “Domain Management” on the Domains menu. Select “Transfers” to view the status of your transfer.

How to Start a Charity Website for FreeIn Feburary 2016 14,

In Feburary 2016 14,
Evaluate your short-term and long-term website needs. If you are fundraising for only a few months, you may not need a website a year from now. However, if you have just started your own charity and plan to be around for the long-term, you will probably want to migrate to a fully hosted website with its own domain name as soon as you can justify the cost.
Look up available domain names for your charity. Most charities and non-profits use a .org domain. For example, the Red Cross uses redcross.org and the American Cancer Society uses cancer.org. To find available domain names, go to the Public Interest Registry website at PIR.org, which manages all .org domains.
Use your charity name if it's available. If it's not available, try using your charity's acronym, an acronym with your location, or words related to your work. Register your domain or make a point of registering it as soon as possible. Domain names cost about $10 per year. You can buy the domain name now and get a Web hosting service later.
Creating a Free Website
Browse any of the free website platforms available online. Some websites, such as Tumblr.com, WordPress.com and Weebly.com, can be used by anyone. Other websites, like Crowdrise.com and JustGiving.com are specifically for charities.
Evaluate your available skills. If someone in your organization has Web design and development experience, it may not matter which platform you choose. If you plan to migrate your free website to a fully hosted domain using WordPress, using WordPress.com now will make it easier to transfer later. If you prefer a user-friendly interface like Weebly.com, you can upgrade from its free plan to your own domain name later without changing your current website at all.
Read the terms and conditions of the website platform you've chosen before starting work. Some platforms may appear to be free until you try to launch your website, or may require payment for the features you want to use. Most free platforms bring in revenue by placing ads on your Web pages. If this is inappropriate, consider buying a Web hosting plan with your own domain name rather than using a free service.
Use the onscreen tutorials to build your Web page. Create an About page telling people what your charity does. Include a Contact page with your phone number, email address and location so people can get in touch with you. If your charity has tax exempt status, put this information on your Contact page or About page as well.

How to Configure Stunnel WindowsIn Feburary 2016 02,

In Feburary 2016 02,
Install Stunnel. Download the Windows binary file from Stunnel.org. Double-click on the executable 'stunnel-4.34-installer.exe' and accept the default values for installing Stunnel on your computer.
Copy a valid SSL public certificate to the directory 'C:\Program Files (x86)\stunnel.' To make things more trouble-free, combine the public key and private key certificates into one .PEM file.
Modify the Stunnel configuration file. Open the file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\stunnel\stunnel.conf' using a text editor such as Notepad. Modify the file to include the line 'cert = C:\Program Files (x86)\stunnel\
,' where
is the name of your certificate file. Modify the file to specify both the incoming (secure) port and the outgoing (insecure) ports. Label this section in brackets for clarity's sake. An example configuration looks like this:[https]accept = 443connect = 8080This configuration tells Stunnel to accept incoming connections on port 443 secured using the public key SSL certificate and redirect those connections to port 8080 on the local server without security.(See reference 1.)
Configure Stunnel to start automatically. Navigate to the Start menu, 'stunnel' folder and click on 'Service Install.' Stunnel will configure a Windows service called 'stunnel' to start automatically when the computer boots.
