How to Add IntegersIn Feburary 2016 27,

In Feburary 2016 27,
Understand that when numbers have no signs in front of them, they are positive. For example, if you have the problem 3 + 5 = ?, both 3 and 5 are positive. You simply add the numbers together using elementary math. For example, find 3 on a number line and count five places to the right to solve the problem: 3 + 5 = 8. Adding two positive numbers always produces a positive result.
Ignore the signs of the numbers initially when adding two negative numbers. Follow the same procedure for adding positive numbers. For example, for -3 + -5 = ?, make the problem 3 + 5 = ? and solve it. The result will be 8. Once you have a solution, add a negative sign in front of the number. So 8 becomes -8.Think about it this way: Say a friend borrowed $3 from you last week, then borrowed $5 from you today. Your friend now owes you $8.
Examine problems that have one positive number and one negative number. If the positive number is larger, subtract the numbers, and then put the positive sign in front of the answer. For example, suppose the problem were 8 + -3 = ?. You would convert the problem to 8 - 3 = ? The result would be 5. You can also use a number line, start at 8 and go three places to the left to find that 5 is the result.
Subtract the numbers and put a negative sign in front of the result if the negative number is larger. For example, consider -5 + 3 = ? You would subtract 3 from 5 to get 2, then add a negative sign for your result: -2.

How to Create Flash Video AdsIn Feburary 2016 21,

In Feburary 2016 21,
Determine the size of your ad space and set the Stage dimensions of your Flash project file to the matching specifications of your ad. Most online ads fall within the 100-200-pixel range, but this will vary dramatically based on the site where your ad will be placed. Go to 'Modify' and 'Document' and set your project dimensions. Flash also provides templates with multiple sizes often used for ads and can be implemented by selecting the 'Template' option when the 'New File' dialogue window appears.
Add any text or external graphics to your ad, such as a logo or tag line for your business. To use a logo or graphic created outside of Flash, import the file to your Library and drag the graphic onto your Stage in the appropriate location. Go to 'File' and 'Import to Library' and choose your graphic from the dialogue boxes.
Place your video file on your Internet server by uploading the Flash video file to your server using an FTP connection, or File Transfer Protocol. Make note of the exact location of the file to place in Flash during the import video stage.
Import your video onto the Stage to build the core element of your ad. Go to 'File' and 'Import to Stage' and follow the dialogue windows as they locate your video file from your server's URL address and import the movie into Flash. Be sure your movie is in the Flash video format of FLV before embedding the file into the project.
Select the 'skin' for your Flash player from the dialogue window for importing your video. The type of skin you choose will be based on how you want people to interact with your ad. If you would like them to have to play the video on the ad, be sure to choose a skin with a play button. Most online video ads have no controls, so select the no-skin setting to achieve this effect.
Save your project file as an FLA for your archive and future editing. The FLA will not be placed online but will be needed to make any edits or adjustments.
Go to 'File' and 'Publish Settings' and deselect the HTML option. Be sure the Flash option is selected and publish the file. This action will produce the SWF necessary to post your video ad online. Once the SWF is created, it will function as a graphic file and can be added to your website or blog just as you would add a digital image or graphic.

How to Word a SelfIn Feburary 2016 19,

In Feburary 2016 19,
Begin the invitation with a request for your guests to attend the wedding. You can use traditional wording such as 'The honor of your presence is requested at the marriage of' or 'The pleasure of your company is requested at the wedding of.' If you want something more familiar and less traditional, use a phrase like 'Because you have shared in our lives, join us at the wedding of,' or 'Celebrate new beginnings and new love at the marriage of.'
Couples' Names
After a request line, write your names. Traditionally, the bride's name is listed first but either way is acceptable. It's formal to include middle names, but you can leave them out if you wish. There aren't specific etiquette rules for listing same-sex couples names, but you can list them alphabetically if you wish. You can use either 'and' or 'to' as the conjunction for the two names. For example, you could write 'Jane Doe and John Smith' or 'Jane Doe to John Smith.'
Date and Year
Your guests need to know when to show up for the event. Traditionally, the line after the couples' names includes the day of the week, the day of the month, and the month of the event. For example, if your wedding is happening on Saturday, April 2, you would write 'Saturday, the second of April' for the date. On the next line, write out the year of the wedding. For example, 2015 would be 'two thousand fifteen.'
Time and Location
On a new line, write the time the ceremony starts, noting the time of day. For example, if your wedding is at 4 p.m., write, 'at four o'clock in the afternoon.' Although you may include a directions card or map with the invitation, write the full address location on the line below the start time. Include the name of the venue, the street address, city, state and zip code. If you're hosting a reception after the ceremony, write 'reception to follow' or 'dinner and drinks to follow' depending on what you're hosting.

How to Check if a Folder Exists in Vb.NetIn Feburary 2016 10,

In Feburary 2016 10,
Type 'Dim pathName As String' in your VB.NET code to define a string variable to hold the path to the folder that you want to look for. This string variable is called 'pathName.' As an example, set the value of the string variable 'pathName' to 'C:\TestFolder.' This can be implemented using the following code; 'pathName = 'C:\TestFolder'.'
Type 'Imports System.IO' in the first line of your code page to import the 'System.IO' library into your VB.net code. The 'System.IO' is a .NET framework class library that is available to all .NET based code. As the code is being developed in VB.NET, this library is also automatically available for use to the developer. A class library is a collection of classes with various functions that programmers can use in their software applications. The 'DirectoryInfo' class is a part of the 'System.IO' class library that exposes functions for creating and moving through directories and sub-directories.
Type the line 'Directory.Exists(pathName)' to use the 'Exists' function of the 'DirectoryInfo class' to check if the 'C:\TestFolder' folder exists on your computer. The 'Exists' function will return a true boolean value if the folder exists, and it will return a false boolean value if the folder does not exist. To catch this boolean value, define a boolean variable by using the following code line: 'Dim answer As Boolean.' Use this 'answer' variable to accept the return value of the 'Exists' function by using the following code line: ' answer = Directory.Exists(pathName).'
Build and compile your code by clicking on the 'Project' option on the top tool bar and then clicking on 'Build.' Execute the code by clicking on the 'Debug' option on the top tool bar and then clicking 'Run.' The VB.net code will execute, check if the 'C:\TestFolder' exists on your computer and return an appropriate true or false value.

How to Organize a Tournament ChecklistIn Feburary 2016 06,

In Feburary 2016 06,
Brainstorm major tasks that need to be accomplished on and before tournament day. Examples include reserving event space, placing an ad for participants in a local newspaper, purchasing or arranging for prizes, preparing a registration list and collecting entry fees.
Place items in the order of when they need to be accomplished, starting from tournament day and working backward to today. Ask vendors how much time they need to deliver products to determine where to put ordering from those vendors on the time line.
Break the list down into days, weeks or months, depending on how much time you have before tournament day --- a checklist for a simple tournament two weeks away may have the same number of tasks as a major charity function that takes six months of planning, so knowing that certain tasks need to be done today, tomorrow, next Monday, etc. will help you accomplish tasks quickly.

Separating tasks by when they need to be accomplished will ensure you hit deadlines and keep you from focusing on later tasks at the expense of immediate ones.
Enter the list into a spreadsheet. Spreadsheet software isn't just for complex math equations --- the built-in grid is perfect for formatting a list and can help keep tabs on expenditures and entry fees.
Organizing Checklist by Category
Brainstorm major tasks that need to be accomplished on and before tournament day. Examples include reserving event space, placing an ad for participants in a local newspaper, purchasing or arranging for prizes, preparing a registration list and collecting entry fees.
Separate tasks based on the type of skill they require. For example, tracking entry fees or operating costs would fall under Money/Finance, registering a charity tournament as a 501(c)3 would fall under Legal and building goody bags and making signs for the event would fall under Crafts.
Enter items on the list into a spreadsheet organized by category.

Computerized spreadsheets offer built-in structure, helpful to organizing your checklist.
If you enlisted help planning your tournament, print the checklist by section and put people in charge of each section based on their skill sets.
